News Correspondent, GMTV Presenter - Jackie Kabler
GMTV - Breakfast Television Presenter
Jackie is GMTV's Midlands correspondent. She also regularly stands in as a newsreader in London
Born in Coventry but brought up in Ireland, Jackie began her media career in 1988 after graduating in zoology from Trinity College, Dublin.
She spent several years writing articles for scientific journals and PR material for pharmaceutical companies, before moving to Jersey to take a job as a trainee reporter on the Jersey Evening Post.
From there she was offered a job at Channel Television, where she experienced everything from operating the autocue in the gallery to reading the news. After six months she moved back to the mainland and quickly landed a job as a reporter and presenter at HTV Bristol.
She then decided to move into network TV, and was offered the GMTV post.
Major news stories Jackie has covered include the Soham murders, the Washington sniper attacks and the 2004 Athens Olympics.
When she's not on the road for GMTV, Jackie lives in Cheltenham, where she loves shopping, painting and attempting to keep fit.
She has also dabbled in acting. In fact, some years ago she had a small part in the ITV detective series Wycliffe - as a TV reporter!
