I was given this as a present and am very impressed with overall quality and performance and ease of use. I would reccomend that this first thing that you buy is a case as it scratches very easily I currently have 49 albums stored Itunes is very easy to use. But the Nano does not suppot firewire unlike my 20GB IPOD which is a little annoying overall cool buy it !!! Oh and the battery life is much better than the previous version but still not the 14 hrs stated GET THE BATTERY LIFE SORTED APPLE

Got a white nano 4gb as a replacement after breaking my Ipod Mini. Everything was good until you notice the battery is going down much quicker than you would expect. Apple say it gives out up to 14 hours playback, UP TO being the main word, to get 14 hours apple must expect you to listen to it very very quietly without the backlight EVER being on and without ever changing the EQ, wheres the fun in this!! Apart from this the nano is perfect, nice looking and extremly light but the battery life lets it down.

Superb and ideal for working with. Only downside is the battery live just over four hours from charged to flat.
Never the less great for the car and against scratching and bumps buy an iskin with the double layer (less handy if using lanyard headphones as you need the outer layer off) However for going in the car essential.
The click wheel, the amount of music and pictures it can store is amazing I got 877 songs on no problem with plenty of extra space. Burning through the itunes is great and so is buying songs this way.
The ipod really did surprise me bar the battery which is not so great but it was well worth the buy for its capability and sound plus the playlist and genres is really handy. Not to beaten on that front but ashame about the battery or I would have rated higher.

I have had the 4G white nano for about a month now and have found it very easy to use. Even without looking at the instructions, the nano is extremly easy to navigate. I definatly would not go for any of the lower gig options as even 4G is a bit small, but the compact, light, and cheaper nano is better for my purposes than the chunkyer video ipods etc. I have the ipod nano lanyard headphones which are great for this item as it is just so light. I have heard that the nano is easily scratched ( which i can imagine as it does seem a little fragile) so invested in some screen protectors and I-tubes, which (although expensive) i would highly recomend. A great product for new or casual users. Apples expertise shine through in this product.

I bought this two weeks ago and think this is an amazing bit of kit. I've burned approx 50 of my favourite CDs via iTunes and still have 1.5 gig of memory left for future tracks. Even when the Nano reaches capacity it is easy to re-categorise what you actually want to dowload to the iPod using the excellent iTunes software, so you can keep updating it with fresh tracks as your collection and preferences change.
It's not ideal for listening to mix CDs as it puts a small pause between tracks, and it's true to say that the battery life is approx 8 hours from charge to flat, which is not really good enough. I'd heard that they scratch easily, so I bought a case (the silicon ones are best) which solved that problem, and I have loved using the Nano ever since.
The Nano is well made and designed - it's a style icon without doubt and has reacquainted me with music I forgot I had. There are cheaper MP3 players for sure but if you've got a few quid to spend on the nano, a case and an AC adapter (all essential) then you must buy this! Believe me.
