Not as good as Sims 2 castaway January 5, 2008 R. Drury (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this having loved Sims 2 castaway, but this one isn't as user-friendly & quite bizarre with lots of 3D stuff that doesn't quite work & mini-games that are quite frustrating. The more I've played it the more I've liked it but it is quite high maintenance & you have to spend a lot of time cheering people up so they don't mess up your hotel & the like! An OK game but not the best!
Great Fun, But Over Too Quick January 2, 2008 Mrs. Margaret L. Mikucki 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this game really fun at first! The graphics are I'd say 8/10, for a DS they're pretty good. The sound features are 5/10, there are good FX sound effects, but not anything amazing and I find the Sim language annoying (but that's the same on all Sims games). I'd say that the touch screen use is 6/10 because you don't move using the touch screen but there is quite a bit of touch screen interacting. The fun is 9/10, it really is great fun!! Overall I rate it 6/10 The problem with it is that it is over sooooo quickly, there are very few levels and although each level is great, once it's completed there is no point playing it for any longer. Therefore, I ended up selling mine about a month and a half after I got it, I did put off selling it for a bit though... I would only pay about 15 for it, maybe 20 at a push. Only get it if your slow at these kind of games and don't mind paying quite a bit for games! Only really for Sims 2 fans (I'm a huge fan).
The Sims 2 on Nintendo DS December 1, 2007 Jess Crane (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this game fun but easy. It involves a lot of waiting and if you don't go on every day or so you have to catch up when you next go on. I didn't find the game as good as the Urbz. Personally, I think the Sims 2 is better bought on computer or playstation. I also thought that the Sims 2 Pets was a lot better structured. The basic aim of the game is to manage a hotel. Many different characters visit the hotel and you have to try to kepp them happy by doing numerous things. You earn money by pleasing customers, taking more customers by buying more rooms, having a well running hotel and defeating any bad guys. The best part of this game is when you defeat aliens etc. I also like the interaction between you and the customers. The worst parts are the waiting, the time arrangements (structured around a real time scale) and the length of the game (too short).

I have had sims 2 for about 3 months i managed to complete the whole thing so i had 100% on my hotel i had total control off my hotel meaning i had the penthouse the let out to my guests. I was playing it when i needed to go in to the pockets the game froze i tryed several times later and still the same thing now not only that my sim is walking like a zombi and no matter how full her bar is she is walking like this. Thats 3 months off hard work gone i am not happy with this and i think other people should know befor they think off buying the game yes its fun yes its addictive but to get that far and crash is a big let down.
Great stuff!! September 23, 2007 Mrs. Alison Skellern (Nottingham, Nottinghamshire United Kingdom) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Sims 2 begins with your car breaking down in Strangetown, in the middle of the desert. The Mayor of Strangetown then gives you the Strangetown Hotel to run, wich is quickly losing buisness. The object of the game is to improve your hotel,by building lounges, casinos and restraunts,to attract guests and keep them happy.Your tasks include cleaning, building rooms, running errands for other Sims and buying furniture and items to furnish your hotel rooms. As the game develops, your other duties will include stopping Alien and Robot invasions and putting out mysterious fires. There are at least 7 mini-games,within Sims 2, that are sure to entertain. If one of your friends has the same game you can trade art, wich you create in the gallery, and music, wich you mix in one of the lounges, with your friends. There is a plot, but gradually it depletes out to just playing the game normally. Its only a small town but there is so much to do and so much to interact with, and this game has brought me hours of fun. Some days there are special events, like 'talk like a pirate day'or a arrival of a new card game at your casino,or an arrival of a new item at the store, wich makes you want to check out whats going in Srangetown every day. However I did have a problem with it wich involved my screen freezing up so I had to send it back and get a replacment, wich meant I had to start all over again. And then it happened to my replacment and I had to replace that.My third one seems to be working fine though.Third time lucky! Apart from that its truly great gaming and definatly worth a buy.
