Why would you buy a Council House?

Stick with me on this one, aren’t council houses the eipiotomy of crass design, low cost build and usually situated in an area designated more dangerous then down town Bagdhad?

So who in their right minds would want to buy a council house?

I only started to have a look into this after I saw that National Guarantee ’specialise’ in mortgages for buying a council property.

Don’t get me wrong, I have done my stint in a council house and I have known many good people who have lived and continue to live in council housing.

I’m only asking the questions.

Surely ‘purchasing a council house’ is a dwindling market?

Here are my reasons for thinking this

So I go back to my initial question.

Why would anyone want to buy a Council House?

There are a few reasons that I can think of

Let’s face it companies like National Guarantee are meeting market demands, once again they are prepared to take the risk of tackling the risk of lending money to people in less affluent areas. But don’t forget, you are a victim of that risk as you will not enjoy the same rates as what you would with a high street lender.

Its all wrong - Once again the poorer people in the country are victimised and the wealthy people prosper.

Just because one may live in a council house or upon a council estate why should they be subjected too high interest rates?

Simple - They have little other choice - Capitalism, don’t you just love it!
For those of you who do live in a council property and are looking to buy, you can check-out a company that will help you, albeit for a price.
