Oil Pricing, Joe Public shafted again!
The world we live in is driven by stupidity, everything in our lives is being driven by greed, profit and scare mongering.
Take oil for example - The planets natural fossil fuel. We all know our dependency on oil is coming to an end, there is a finite amount left and one day the tap is going to run dry. But here’s the thing, is that day not 50 years away?
So why is it that today oil prices are climbing higher than the Space Shuttle at lift off?
I’ll tell you why, it’s greed, pure and simple.
Each day the price of crude oil is on the rise. It seems like only yesterday we were astonished that a barrel of oil had reached $100. Now oil has been as high as $118 a barrel.
Now OPEC are releasing statements stating they expect oil to hit $200 a barrel in the next 12 months!
So when Shell make profits of $7.8bn (£3.9bn) while BP saw its profits rise 48% to $6.588bn (£3.31bn) in the first quarter, now is the time to act and say no more.
I fail to see how is it acceptable that Joe Public has less money and the fat-cat shareholders from the likes of BP, Shell and Texaco are getting richer?
As soon as there is any form of excuse the price of oil is pushed skywards. You have to wonder if the threats are put into place to contrl the pricing from the outset. The cost of oil rises from terrorist threats, or notions of natural disasters; it seems if the wind gets above 40mph near an oil pumping facility the price of Brent Crude goes up!
It’s all crap. When was the last time an oil rig blew up? When was the last time a terrorist took out an oil refinery? And so what if they do, there are plenty of oil refineries and production facilities around the world to cope. But the very thought is influence enough for the oil cartel to carry-on getting richer - AT OUR EXPENSE!
Inflated oil prices is all about fleecing Joe Public, pure and simple. Everything in our lives is affected by oil. Even if you are a hermit and live in a house where there is no electric, no gas and no water and you live off of Tesco Direct, you indirectly still use oil. Our dependency on oil is our downfall.
Grangemouth Strike
The strike at Grangemouth highlights the greed of everyone associated with oil. As soon as the idiots of the UK started to panic buy, petrol retailers were using this as an excuse to inflate petrol prices! Yes, supply and demand is a simple form of economics, but stupid Joe Public falls for these kind of tactics and like aimless sheep follow what is being asked.
The petrol stations who were fleecing the public should be fined, but our greedy government has no concern for us, only the revenue The Treasury is gaining.
The price of oil is nothing less than criminal
Since that one idiot American trader pushed the price of Brent Crude past $100 (at a loss) for the first time, we can expect to see the commodity that is black gold continuing to go skywards in price.
Buy why? There are millions of gallons of oil produced each month with millions more being stock piled, and this leads me back to the cost of oil, it is all corporate bullshit. There are still millions of gallons available. The world is not going to run out of oil tomorrow and this is the element that really gets my goat.
All the scare mongering and excuses is designed to strip us of our money and drive our money into the pockets of shaeholders at all the major oil companies.
Alternative solutions to oil
I like my conspiracy theories and I am in total belief there are other viable forms of fueling vehicles. I simply believe the oil companies will not release the alternative technology because there is a simple idea which would wipe out their lucrative business models. It is not until they have squeezed every last penny from us and every last drop of black gold from the planet will new ‘astonishing’ technology be made public.
Until then the price of oil will continue to rise and our cost of living is going to increase until none of us can afford to live.
Unless world leaders get a grip on this I can seriously see the rising cost of oil being the downfall of modern man and the breakdown of society.
Because of greed, we are all going to hell in a handcart.

No, it’s not greed. It’s called “business”. The definition of business in the dikshunary is defined as “the art of making money”.
Whether or not anybody is hurt, or bankrupted in the process is irrelevant. Business is all about shafting somebody; anybody, in order to live a great life and to say “Fuck you Jack, pull the gangplank in, I’m on board!”
