No travel insurance cover? No winter sports!
According to a major travel insurance assesment firm, you’d be crazy not to ensure that a.) you have travel insurance when going on winter sports holidays, and b.) you know the exact terms of what’s included.
Cheap travel insurance is relatively easy to find these days really, a couple of Googles and you’ve got yourself a pretty decent list of companies, prices, and policies… but does that mean they cover you for winter sports? Certainly not. Many people going off on a ski holiday requiring ski insurance, simply grab the cheapest travel insurance they can find at the last minute, not knowing whats included or whether or not its sufficient.
Specific policies should explicitly state that they include cover for board sports and skiing, and also specifiy whether this cover extends to off piste excursions or whether it is limited as such. Another valid point to take into consideration is whether or not your travel insurance convers you for helicopter and mountain rescue? These things all cost money, and the above is not one of the cheaper of the examples!
Do you have any pre-existing conditions? Might want to double check that its covered because generally speaking they aren’t!
And remember always check the small print of travel insurance, the last thing you want is some get out clause whereby the travel insurance provider can get off scot free when you need to make a claim.

I HATE skiing, snow, ice, cold and all that goes with it! People must be mad to spend good money to have a holiday in the cold.
Give me the Med anytime. The hotter, the better…..
