Local Councils should give rebates for Recycling - Council Global Warming Scam
I had a great day today; I spent fifty minutes in a queue to dispose of some waste at the local refuse amenity.
FIFTY MINUTES
I’ll say that again - FIFTY MINUTES - What a way to spend an Easter holiday.
Honestly the queue to get in the place was horrendous.
And why did I have to make this trip? Because the local refuse service is not thorough enough and us humans waste too much!
Again, when are the people of Great Britain going to wake-up and smell the coffee - we throw away too much stuff, it’s that simple - Whilst I was in the queue I was looking at the huge mountain of rubbish that was on show.
To be fair, I think 50% of it needn’t have been there. There was enough cardboard to keep the Brazilians in housing for the next 100 years and enough wood and timber to build a hospital - if you took these two materials out of the equation, there would have been a lot less rubbish.
But as we are facing this Global Warming crisis, surely the local councils of the United Kingdom should be paying us to be more frugal with our refuse.
Our local councils are all too quick to take our money from us for less service, so if householders can help reduce waste from not being so lazy why not reward them? It always amazes me what people throw out - but today I was looking in as many cars as possible and really all I could see was mainly cardboard and wood.
So my question is why are there not recycling centres for these two materials the same as there is for glass, clothes and newspapers. Businesses have cardboard picked up, so why not have a central point at local recycling units?
And while I’m on the subject of Newspapers, one of the biggest uses of newspaper paper has to be the free local rags that drop through our doors each week. I don’t know about you, but I all simply do is put these shit publications straight into the recycling bin.
Now to me that it as an utter waste of time - why bother printing it in the first place? There are two local newspapers in Worthing that drop through my door each week - The Advertiser and The Guardian - Both are owned by the same company - The Johnson Press Group and all of the crap they print is featured in the Worthing Herald which is printed each week - the only difference being, one has to pay to read the crap in the Worthing Herald.
But that’s my point, I don’t want to read the shit, but if I did I should have to pay for it!
We need to cut the waste off at the source and there also needs to be more facilities for a broader range of materials.
Worthing Borough Council introduced another money spinner not so long ago - The 50p garden refuse bag! Now the rules are as follows: The refuse teams will only take away garden rubbish that are in official Worthing Borough Council bags, now that is not a bad little racket.
And get this, West Sussex County Council then say they are not producing enough compost to make the garden waste collection matter - I don’t believe that - Somewhere, someone is making money! Again from us mugs who keep putting our hands in our pockets!
I actually like recycling; if you take it seriously you would be surprised how much you can reduce your refuse output. I honestly think there is no need for a family of four to throw away any more than one bag of ‘real’ rubbish per week.
And for that I believe your local council or local authority should reward you with at least a fifth of your council tax bill each month. Of course that will never happen as our greedy local politicians need the extra cash for the extravagant expenses claims.
But unless there is a financial aspect, you tell me why anyone in the UK would want to recycle? And don’t give me that saving the planet bullshit - Let’s face facts, the industrial revolutions that are taking place in China and India are doing far more damage to the planet than 100 years of combined UK waste - so until these behemoths and America tackle the global warming issues for real our paltry efforts of recycling have the same effect as a lone fireman pissing on a forest fire to put it out.
Here’s my final thought to any local politician who will read this blog - Reduce our bills, give the people an incentive to recycle, because we both know that you are doing nothing more than taking the piss and our money again!
