Halifax Trael Insurance - Price Comparison
This time we see Halifax come up against Travel Insurance Direct, to see who can offer the most comprehensive and competitive travel insurance policy.
Once again, we compare a single trip travel insurance quote, both price and policy. All details are the sime, the policy is based upon 1 adult travelling to a worldwide destination outside of the USA and Canada for up to 16 days.
First things first, price. Travel Insurance Direct again comes out cheaper than Halifax. The Travel Insurance direct policy costing £29, the policy with Halifax comes out as at £39.08 per person, over £10 more!
Policy-wise the cover with Travel Insurance Direct is superior. Both policy offer the same features except on personal liability. Halifax offers a payout of £25,000, whereas the Travel Insurance Direct policy will pay out £2 million.
Below are quotes from Travel Insurance Direct and Halifax based on 1 adult below the age of 65. Cover is for travelling up to 16 days to a worldwide destination outside of the USA and Canada:
| Halifax | TID | |
| Medical | £10,000,000 | £10,000,000 |
| Personal Possessions | £1,500 | £1,500 |
| Personal Money | £500 | £500 |
| Cancellation/Curtailment | £5,000 | £3,000 |
| Personal Liability | £25,000 | £2,000,000 |
| Delayed Departure | £250 | £800 |
| Legal Expenses | £25,000 | £15,000 |
| Price | £39.08 | £29 |
Travel Insurance Direct also cover pet care costs, hijacking and golf cover, the Halifax policy, like Sainsbury’s, features mugging cover.
Again the Travel Insurance Direct policy is far superior, with a much higher payout for personal liability. Again the price factor is a big deciding factor, with the TID policy coming out £10 cheaper, it is again a clear winner.
