Exercise equipment for the disabled
Having a disability can cause issues for keeping fit, after all how many wheelchair users can work off their excessive guts by hitting the ground with some jogging?
It does make me wonder how many M.E sufferers are fat gits also? After all having M.E does rob you of natural energy so in reality you are not likely to have the stamina for even the easiest of exercises.
Becoming unhealthy is a common trait for many people who are disabled or have the misfortune to become disabled.
FACT - Having a disability should not stop you exercising, that is unless you are like Christopher Reeve who ultimately could not move much of his body following becoming paralysed.
FACT - Having a disability has not stopped one girl from keeping fit and trim and if I dare say, a shaggable entity. In fact this one girl is a top swimmer and has won gold at the Paralympics.
So how does she say so fit? Easy……
She uses a swim spa. A what? Yes, a swim spa. Basically, it’s a super sized hot tub with wave control. You swim against the force of the water and thus you are exercising.
Let’s face it, there are not too many disabled people who make their way to the local swimming pool, which is not a bad thing, after all who wants to swim in vegetable soup?
Back to the nitty gritty, the problem with this level of keep-fit is this, a swim spa is not going to leave you with much change out of ?17,000!
You tell me how many disabled people have a spare ?17k floating about? There are those that may have received compensation following an accident, but for the majority the words ‘No Chance’ spring to mind with most disabled people struggling to get a bean out of social services for the simplest of living aids.
Let’s face it when you are disabled your choices become limited; income can disappear, housing can prove difficult and to be fair many disabled are so racked off with their disposition they lose it completely.
Obviously, I do not fall into any of the categories above. I keep my weight down by shagging MrsCrip senseless, but then it is fair to say that most other disabled people are not blessed with my good looks, personality and charm.
So, if you are disabled, and blessed with compensation money or have had good fortune to retain an income, have a look at the Swim Spas on offer at Elite Spas and think seriously about investing 16k to keeping good health and circulation.
