Credit Card Con - Get proper Travel Insurance
For Christ’s sake, don’t believe the hype delivered to you from your credit card company about Travel Insurance being automatic with your credit card - it’s a load of old tosh, plain and simple.
I found an interesting blog on a Travel Insurance site that I use to buy my Travel Insurance, it references how Credit Card companies are offering Travel Insurance as a sweetener to get people to sign-up and indeed use the credit-cards they offer.
I can speak from experience on this subject; the credit card companies are talking bull. Firstly in order to qualify for any part of their Travel Insurance you have to have booked your holiday/trip using a credit card. This will obviously be par for the course for many people who simply do not have the raw cash to stump-up for a holiday and use a credit-card as a buffer, so do this mean these people are covered?
But wait, there is a further catch to the obvious ease of which you can claim from your credit-card company. From my recollection, the cover you gain from a credit-card company only covers you for an accident when you are actually travelling to or indeed from your destination, and don’t forget you have to have booked this mode of transport with your credit-card first! The credit card companies could not give a vicars tea-party for any other part of it! So if you break leg once you are on your holiday do not bother calling your card supplier, as they simply will not be interested.
If you are going away on holiday, you need proper Travel Insurance; what is the point of skipping on such a detail? Travel Insurance costs no more than one average night out whilst you are on your holiday.
If I had not had proper Travel Insurance when I was away, I would have been left with a bill of at least £50,000 and that was a good few years ago.
Credit card companies offer us the world, but as with anything there is nothing for nothing, and the travel insurance you receive from your bright and breezy new credit card supplier is about as much use as a chocolate teapot!

Of course everyone wants to feel safe all the time. Especially when it concerns traveling you want to be provided with insurance. You should demand it if necessary.
