Comic Relief A Waste of Time!
Now, I am really going to annoy a lot of people now
What is the point of Comic Relief?
We give, people still die - NOTHING CHANGES
Don’t get me wrong I am all for helping out, but the root of the problem is not within many of these countries, it lies with us in the greedy world which the majority of us crave.
I saw a clip about a young girl in Tanzania who’s skin was literally falling off due to malnutrition, to be honest I found it tough going looking at the TV screen - the pain and anguish the girl was suffering from was terrible. But deep down do we really give a shit? But for the grace of god, go I, is that not how the saying goes?
I think we all need to have a good long look at ourselves and wonder why these people are dying - There is a word that sums it all up - PROFIT.
The West is a profit led land where only the shareholders count, not people.
The capitalist West is not doing enough to help - Simply putting our hands in our pockets every two years for Comic Relief has a very minor impact on the root of the problem - Yes we might keep one person alive, but what about the other 10 that will die.
The numbers of children that are literally staving to death is beyond belief - How about rationalising our food intake? - Now I might be accused of being anti-fat, but that would not be a way forward? I am looking at answers to problems.
As a nation we consume too much, we know this because the number of people that are becoming obese is rising. Look at the profit the likes of Tesco, Sainsburys and other major Supermarkets are making - its extreme amounts of cash!
We eat too much, there are food mountains throughout Europe, waste food (especially Beef) gets tipped into the sea, and yet we cannot send our excess food off to help the starving - Its wrong, and it is about time that we all realised that each time we buy a treat that we don’t really need that we are killing another child!
Look as the excess food you’ll clear off your table next mealtime, i’ll bet there be enough food to feed another 5 people!
Transport is not a problem, the world is a small place these days so shipping the food to the needy need not be an issue.
And regards Comic Relief, stop me if I’m wrong - but since when was Fearne Cotton ever a comic?

The only think that makes me remotely close to laughing when she is on is the flatness of her chest - still enough of that. When I tune into to Comic relief I wabt to see Comics, not some blonde bint with half a brain yabbering on about her favourite celeb!
Then I have a problem with the celbreties that run these events - lets take hard-up Jonathan Ross - This is a man that earns the same as Huddersfield’s combined annual TV Licence revenue. With all his enterprises, it would be a surprise if Jonathan ‘I love myself’ Ross was not earning around 10 Million a year.
So why does Mr Ross think that the many thousands of people who earn considerably less than him should put their hands in their pockets.
Then there is the legend that is Terry Wogan. Terry the likeable Irish chap takes a fee for Children In Need! Terry Wogan, I have some words for you - You are a theif, you are stealing money from the sick children - shame on you!
Now I am not a communist, far from it - but enough is enough - it is time tax the crap out of the ‘have’s’.
Jonathan Ross could afford a Million pounds from his own fat back pocket, yet there he is on my TV begging us to dig deep.
Well Mr Ross, your right, the Great British public should dig deep, around 6ft should do it, and when we have a hole to the right depth we can start filling the ground with all the bullshit celebrities who have a higher standard of life and ask us to dig deep.

People who pretend to be disabled to make money - now there’s an idea.
So you tell me, Comic Relief, is it worth it?

Could’nt agree more. Year after year we watch as these overrated “celebs” appeal to their public for monitary help for these poor people. Its so distressing to watch and quite frankly although we are momentarily disturbed and upset to see what is going on in lands not that far away, we mutter to ourselves how dreadful it all is and then get back out to the kitchen to make another cup of tea and have something to eat!!
We live in a world of “I’m all right Jacks” and although there are a few people out there prepared to make an effort to help make these unfortunate peoples lives a bit easier to bear, there is by no means enough being done.
So, in answer to your question “Comic Relief, is it worth it?”, I suppose if it even does a little bit to eleviate their suffering, then it must be a good thing.
It would take a miracle to solve the problem, but as you say if all the fat cats in this world put their money where their mouths are and contributed just a portion of their earnings for maybe just a few years, then maybe, just maybe we would start to see some sort of quality of life for these people. Sadly, its just not going to happen.
