Australia admits being in Iraq for oil! You don’t say!

I have just seen a fantastic admission on the BBC site by Australian Defence Minister Brendan Nelson that Australia was in Iraq to secure oil supplies.

I don’t mean to be funny, but is this not what the anti-war lobbyists have been saying since the start of the illegal war in Iraq.

Surely, this is further justification that numb-skull UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown should get our troops the hell out of Iraq, and further evidence that Tony Blair lied to the population of the UK and deserves nothing less than to be tried for War Crimes?

At least the Australians have the guts to admit they are in Iraq for the black stuff unlike the lying charlatans that form the UK Government.

The Times headline on July 11, 2002 was, “West Sees Glittering Prizes Ahead in Giant Oilfields”. It’s only the general public who need to be lied to about this. The business community know exactly what’s going on..
