A Ruined Christmas?

It’s called Christmas for a reason.

CHRISTmas..yeah we celebrate the birth of Jesus CHRIST.

What a load of crap, I mean really..why do people insist on trying to ruin our holidays etc, and then when we don’t like something they do we are suddenly racist or whatever?
it takes the piss it really does. Screw you all, CHRISTmas is here to stay!!

Has anybody actually done anything towards the removal of Christmas? Or Easter for that matter, I was completely unaware that this was going on. And in any case, you can’t ‘get rid of christmas’. For one thing, it generates too much money for shops and stuff - it would possibly ruin the economy if the biggest holiday of the calendar suddenly disappears. Christmas is a deeply rooted culrural tradition; its imbedded so deeply into the psyche of the English people that it would be completely irrational to believe that you could get rid of it. People would just celebrate it in their homes, churches would still celebrate it, as it is a religious ceremony technically. As long as there are still christians, or people who enjoy spending time with their families at all, then christmas will not disappear. In any case, what basis could the government have for getting rid of it? Love to you mothers, and everyone who enjoys turkey - long live christmas! Long live decorations! Long live family love, togetherness, the giving and receiving of gifts, the celebration of the birth of Jesus (Much love to the big guy up in the sky as well) and above all frick health and safety - thats a much bigger threat to our enjoyment of life than foreigners =]

I do agree with you, but I dont think christmas will ever leave this country mainly because of children. I think as it’s past down through generations and generations of familys’, the spirit of it is too and i dont think any significant little details such as other religions making us take down our xmas trees is guna stop us from havning our holiday that the whole nation looks forward to at the end of the year.
However…
IF IMIGRANTS ARE COMING INTO OUR COUNTRY AND TELLING US WHAT TO DO THEN ITS A WHOLE DIFFERENT MATTER, if you dont want our holidays and our traditions DONT BOTHER SLIPPING INTO OUR COUNTRY.
I do think that other religions do try and spoil the christmas spirit.
A CHRISTMAS TREE IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST PARTS OF XMAS U COULD EVER HAVE IN MY OPINION. You’ve gotta go all out at xmas! Thats the first thing kids learn about at christmas, apart from the nativity of course.
If religous people want to have their holidays they can have them in their own countries, DONT BRING THEM HERE! WE DONT WANT THEM! i meen really… dont put a downer on our holidays especially the biggest one of the year. (sorry if this caused offence to anyone, but its my opinion!) xx

britain has gone politicly correct mad, and it is a christian country.
so we should be able to have our view and enjoy the birth of Jesus at christmas.We wouldnt go into another country and stop them, so why stop us?

As I said, MrBlack, I knew nothing of it. However, i now partially agree with you. Its bollocks, that. Has anybody tried to get it changed back to normal? After all it is a religious ceremony, and depriving people of it is a human rights violation is it not?

The critic inside me wants to say because Christianity is the only religion that has holidays for fun :p if we starved ourselves for two weeks afterwards then it’d be a different matter :p

Um…Hey I wasn’t aware of he removal of holidays going on (Please don’t hurt me)
All I know is that immigration won’t stop any time soon with all the wars that the USA are making by provoking government and stuff…I don’t think it is fair to you guys I mean Christmas is a time of happiness and forgiveness, family, time to stuff your faces, gain a few pounds etc. but people have their religions I mean I think those immigrants should be silent and live with as it isn’t their country… I think you guys should stand up for what you believe and don’t back down till you finish the fight even if it gets a little bloody…I mean c’mon would you go into India and then go to the Indian government and tell them you can’t celebrate their holidays? You would probably be deported or something like that….
I think different religions are fine in the same country but the people who came and established their claim late and have a different religion to yours shouldn’t say to you I don’t want you celebrating Christmas they should stay in their homes and celebrate their holiday and not disturb anyone else…Ok well I’m getting besides myself..so I will leave now

I’m not really good at putting words together into a speech,comment etc. but I think I did pretty well for an American…
I mean Bush is stupid…America is partly responsible for all wars although Iraq started that one but other than that…
I mean they could replace Bush with a robot and I’m sure the robot would preform so much better..but anyhow getting off topic
I think you guys should take action etc..
Talk to your government and figure out a little compromise which won’t hurt both religions

I think this country has become so politically correct that they just cant be botherd to stick up for our beleifs and traditions anymore.

i mean c’mon… we celebrate the foreign holidays when we go abroad and we dont disagree with it, why come to our country and try and get rid of ours,… ILL TELL U WHY, ITS BECAUSE US ENGLISH ARE ALLWAYS GETTING BLOODY SLATED FOR BEING RACIST ALL THE TIME, THAT WE CANT AND WONT FIGHT BACK IN FEAR OF BEING INPRISIONED, therefore we just put up with it. Next they’ll be telling us we can’t celebrate the spring equinox and we’ll be expected to wave bloody palm fronds around like the rest of them. I’m as open minded as the next man, but if they don’t like the way we do things here they can bugger off back to where they came from…
