5 Reasons to holiday in UK

Yes folks the credit crunch is biting hard - I am now having to rely on scraps thrown to the birds on which to live, so that pretty much rules out a holiday abroad this year.

My annual trip to the UK South (Spain) is cancelled this year so instead I am having to buy in a stack of Sangria and dress MrsCrip in a Flamenco costume which if you require a visual is like looking at the hippos out of Disney’s Fantasia!

So now we all have no cash there is no better reason to holiday in the UK. The great thing is there is stacks to do in the UK, but the sunshine of warmer climbs is all too appealing for some no matter what the cost or the effect on the climate.

Well stuff that, here are 5 top reasons why you should holiday in the UK.

1. Friendly locals - If you go self-catering and cannot find the cutlery, find the local hoodies and ask if you can borrow their collection of knives, plus you get to experience local culture at its rawest!
2. Varied culture - When was the last time you want to a hotel in the UK and was served by an English person in the restaurant? It does not happen.You are more likely to find an English person in the Costa del Sol then you are in a hotel in England. Brush up on your Polish, Lithuanian and Romanian and you will have a great time!
3. Brilliant infrastructure - Going to a hotel in Torquay, or travelling to Devon? The UK has the best transport infrastructure in Western Europe. All you need do is step into your car and your relaxing journey to your destination will be a pleasure.
4. Perfect weather - How many days a year does the sun continually shine in Devon? This years record is 85. So taking a two-week trip to a destinantion in the UK is unlikely to result in anything other than wall-to wall sunshine.
5. Clean beaches -When was the last time you battled with the local sewage works discharge? Water companies are much better prepared now. The discharge pipes carrying all our bodily waste goes out a little further to sea now, so UK holiday makers are not having to battle Turd von Turdson on the beach, you actually have to get in the water to get a real taste of England!
