10 Reasons to bring back the death penalty in Britain

I’m not in favour of the death penalty for several reasons. I would like to see the scum responsible fot the deaths to be beaten to within an inch of their sorry lives. Perhaps we should follow some of the middle eastern states, in that we remove the hand(s) of the perpetrator. Drastic, but they won’t be carrying knives again.

i thk if you murder or intend to kill you should be the death penalty, and if ya a forigner like most are you should be kicked out the country.

Hold on a second here, look at the US. They have the death penalty and their crime / murder rates are considerably higher. I can’t say that I see the death penalty as being overly successful over there.

Do you really think that the death penalty is a strong enough deterent to stop people commiting the crime in the first place? Do you think that when people go out and commit crime they’re thinking about what will happen if they do get caught?

I’d say that the only real deterent is believing you’re going to get caught for your actions. If people had a stronger faith in the effectiveness of the police then crime would go down. The fact is when you’re stabbing someone to death you’re not really thinking about the consequences of your actions.

I would also remind you that when we did have the death penalty in this country violent crime and even murder still occured.

I agree with you, we should hang these murderous parasites if there is definite proof that they have committed a pre-meditated murder. Even hanging is too good for them really. They should be hung out to dry in a public place; there is no bigger deterent than that to the other scumbags!

We should adopt the Jewish outlook “An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth”, and my own personal creed when threatened, “Do unto others before they do unto you”.

In this day and age it’s no good relying on the police to sort things out, they are hamstrung by this PC Government

We can all agree that murder is one of, if not, the most serious offences you can possibly commit, however, killing the murderer to make the situation “right” is not logical or appropriate for a civilised society. Killing is killing whether sanctioned by the state or an individual.

Brining back the death penalty would further brutalise society and it doesn’t work as a deterrent, as mentioned already. What about the individuals who are proved to be inocent after they have been killed or mamed, as you suggest? There will always be mis-carriages of justice so what do you say to the families of these people when you get the decisions wrong?

It just satisfies the bloodlust from mis-guided individuals like yourself.

Please think about what you are saying. How could we ever have a peaceful society if the state has the right to kill ?

You talk about deterrents and punishment as if there are no other options. It’s clear that even the most severe of punishments up to and including death do not act as an effective deterrent. See the US, China and the Middle East - all these have the death penalty and regularly kill criminals but it still doesn’t stop crime.

What’s wrong with trying to understand why people commit crimes? It’s been found that schemes where prisoners are forced to confront their victims have a big impact. The trouble is the government won’t seriously take this up because the voters, like yourself, and the tabloids are clamouring for punishment. Politicians feel they need to be seen to be tough on crime. I remember we had the short, sharp shock sentences under Thatcher and they were stopped because they didn’t work - merely toughened up young men and gave them a badge of honour.

You didn’t answer the question about the inevitable miscarriages of justice that always occur. What would you say to a family whose father was electrocuted or hung and then it was found out he was innocent? For me the death of even just one innocent person would be too much.

Check out the statistics, as the fear of crime is much higher than actual crime. The chances that you will be a victim of terrorism or murdered are tiny, but as many people killed in 9/11 are killed on the roads each year.

Its ok bringing back the death penalty until someone innocent gets hanged. Look at all the misscarriages of justice in recent years? Better to make life imprisonment mean life than bring back the death penalty for me. some of the comment here are about revenge and thats not justice either

Has anyone seen the Japanese film ‘Battle Royale’? In it, the State attempts to deal with rising youth violence by transporting whole classes of schoolkids to an island. On the island, each kid is fitted with an explosive neck collar which can be detonated under certain circumstances. The kids are pitted against one another in on order to survive. This naturally leads to carnage as they bump each other off. Now, coudn’t this idea be applied to all the miscreants that the UK seems to churn out these days? Who needs Big Brother when we could watch low life scum killing each other. One of the uninhabited islands in the Outer Hebrides could be utilised, preferably one that had been previously infected with anthrax by the military. Give the pond scum some frying pans and rusty knives and let them take care of each other.

Anyone who says that it’s immoral to kill bad people deserve to die.

Please consider this:

It’s time for the world to wake up. Criminals are labelled “wrongly convicted”; in fact probably less than half of criminals who get CAUGHT are put in jail. the other half don’t get caught, or are on police databases but the police can’t nail them.

Prisoners get luxuries such as TV’s, game consoles, cable tv, etc. Prisoners are released early for “good behaviour”. In prisons, drugs are more easily available and much cheaper. And in some prisons, prostitutes are smuggled in.

There are millions of criminals out there on or below nimimum wage, which means that they live a shitty life outside prison. That’s why there are so many drug dealers, violent crimes, etc. And these kind of criminals intentionally commit crime just so they can get in prison because it’s a better life for them.

A prison is meant to be a punishment, but many criminals actually LIKE prison.

I’m being totally serious in saying all of this. Just look at the BBC news website and you’ll see what I mean. The British justice system isn’t a justice system at all.

Criminals deserve to die not because of theur crimes but because of the fact that they have no respect for other people’s lives. And I don’t just want criminals dead either:

I also want corrupt politicians dead. I want the corrupt banks to disappear. I want not only justice, but hapiness in this world. With britains current justice system, there are many things threatening my (and millions of other people’s) hapiness.

There was a time when capital punishment was believed in by everyone. THAT was the time of justice in England. Do you know what time I refer to? In those times, people understood that certain individuals needed to be removed form society. A murderer didn’t get put in prison, only to be let back out years later; he was killed and forgotten, as he should be.

I have absolutely had enough of the way our system is run! It is so f*ckin corrupt it makes me sick!
I was just watchin a program on tv called ’street wars’ an it showed our society for what it really is…an that is rubbish!
I cannot belive the stuff i was seein! Firefighters had been called to put out a fire, an some absolute bastards started throwin rocks an bottles at these men that are just doin their job…an if i was the prime minister an i saw that…i would straight away give firefighters permission to kill the scum then an there, run them over…whatever!

Basically i cant even begin to write everything so heres what i think shud be done!

1. Bring back the death penalty - there is no fear in punishment an what the f*ck does an ASBO do? - F*CK ALL!
2. Kids as young as 10 are stabbin, killin, arson etc etc…so if they’re old enough to do that then string ‘em up! Socitey would be better off without them cause imagine what they would be like when they grew up!
3. Torture - Fingers chopped off!

An what also annoys me is how the media are blaming all this on drink an drugs - obviously drink an drugs don’t help but the real reason is that they’re are just w*nkers!

All we need is REAL justice, not a slap on the wrist or a stupid fine…If all of that above is enforced i know for a fact i would happily walk home at night an not scout every square inch of the area!

I don’t think foreigners should be deported.

I mean, if they come to our country, they do voluntarily - and that means they have to play by our rules.

If they decide not to follow the law, they get punished.

Why deport them back to their own country when it only means wasting time, money and putting people of that country at risk?

However, if this ideology went global - you’d have to take care of the other countries which have unfair justice systems, unreliable (or sometimes no) court trials, i.e. capital punishment for homosexuality.
