Fantastic. Just awesome. November 13, 2008 D. Spink (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For those of you wondering if you can justify spending 400+ on a projector, it's worth it, I shop on Amazon all the time but this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a review. It arrived the day after I ordered, which was a great start. I now have it hooked up to my computer as I'm typing this as well as a PS3. Watching movies, playing computer games, TV - It all looks great. Im not using a screen yet, I'm just projecting it onto a light beige wall and it still looks crisp, clear and smooth. Also I would like to make it clear that setting this thing up is a breeze, you do not need the manual they give you. But even that is well written and very, very helpful. Overall. Ace product. Buy it now.
my first projector November 7, 2008 bad bead (essex) this is my first projector and im glad i choose the optoma HD700x. after fiddling with my setup it was running after 10mins. Great picture (even in the daytime or with the lights on!). my set up is:picture size 3x6 feet-when projector is placed 3 metres from flat, white painted wall. this size can be increased or decreased using the settings (so you dont have to move the projector at all). the picture can also be adjusted if the optima is on a slant to stop a 'pyramid effect' and keep the picture square, as mine is on a high shelf pointing down(but you can also flip the image(if ceiling mounted) or reverse image (if projecting onto a glass screen) the settings are pretty endless to help adapt the optoma to your set-up. i have a hdmi dvd setup and scart freeview box connected. picture is generally clear and smooth no matter the size or format. apart from a few setup teething problems everything is most splendid!
Optoma HD700X projector October 28, 2008 A. Whitham Bought this about a month ago and I am impressed. I am projecting it onto a creme wall and the colours are still fantastic. I wouldnt bother buying a screen if you have somewhere flat and pale. Close up the picture remains excellent quality. I can see the rainbow effect ONLY if I concentrate on seeing it AND move my eyes quickly over the image. In normal use it is NOT visible. Overall a fabulous buy and produces a much better picture then My Hi Def TV.
Optoma HD700X HD projector, 18 Oct 2008 October 18, 2008 R. Henderson (Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was torn between a new TV for my sons bedroom and projector. Having not owned a projector before i had only used one for work i didnt think the quality would be that good. However i got a demo of one and thought it was good. I recieved the projector on Thursday and within an hour it was up and running. The qualty is unbelieveable even when linked up to a freeview box. The PS3 HD Graphics are superb on the 74" screen that we have set it too. This actually worked out cheaper than the HD tv/stand etc

I've owned my HD700x for a few months now and have never regretted buying it for one second. Now that I have just started playing Blu-Ray discs through it I love it even more. The only slightly negative point I have is the ever so slight rainbow effect on very dark action scenes. Although I am now aware that I actually used to look for it when I first started watching movies on it with a critical eye. Now that I am used to it I very rarely notice it. And at this price I don't believe you can get better. Perfect for wet summer days.
