Good price, good camera November 26, 2008 M. Duone (Caledonia) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The Panasonic DMC FS3 is an 8 mega pixels camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. It makes an excellent point and shoot camera that can be slipped into the pocket and taken anywhere. I got mine for taking on holiday and it's been very useful because of its size and the quality of pictures you get. The Panasonic is very easy to use. This is a simple straightforward digital camera. Menus are bright and clear and all the key controls are at your fingertips. I was very impressed with the cameras focus under certain situations. One of the main problems with my previous digital camera was it couldn't always give you the best focus. I've tried under many different movement and lighting settings and the Panasonic handles most of them very well, certainly above average for a camera of this price. I also found, when comparing to my old camera, that the Panasonic displayed colours better, even more so in a bright outdoors picture. The only down side I could find was that the Panasonic seems to struggle when there are dark patches in a picture. If you have an area in shadows you may find the focus a little bit out. However it osn't a huge problem. For a camera this price I wasn't expecting it to be this good. I'm very impressed that a small pocket camera can do quite so much so well. Highly recommended.
Cheap and cheerful August 25, 2008 M. Chatterton 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
Bought this after losing my Canon Ixus50 (5Mega-pixel). The camera is robust and has plenty of useful features - however the intelligent mode select and anti-shake are not great. I did get better results from my Canon. However at the price its good value. Takes SD cards which are cheap and easy to plug into most laptops and the battery lasts well. Prefer the Canons picture taking ability but a good cheap digital camera.
Excellent small camra August 20, 2008 D. JACKSON (York, UK) 26 out of 28 found this review helpful
I brought this for my hoildays and it is so easy use. even thou the buttons are small. it takes 2 hours to charge the battery. and it last over 2 hours of use. which is much better than using a camra with AA's as it takes full day to charge. The screen is big enough. The menu's are nice and clear. Its small light. If u dont want carry around ur SLR camra pefefect for hoilday pictures. The price is great too. Had no problems with it.
Best budge camera August 13, 2008 V. Shah (England) 18 out of 22 found this review helpful
Image quality is best. Easy to use and good Ni battery. Very light weight and small in size (almost as big as Nokia N95 and similar weight). Need to buy separate memory stick.
Why spend more? July 31, 2008 Matthew Bourne (UK) 61 out of 61 found this review helpful
Like a previous reviewer, I bought this to compliment a digital SLR, and first impressions are very good. Build quality is excellent and whilst the camera is very small, the controls are easy to use (I have man-size hands!). Image quality is excellent and if you want more than point and shoot there is white balance, colour and iso control, all of which are quick to access. The LCD is big and clear, if a little slow with movement. Looks more expensive than it is too! 3x zoom is fine for most situations and with 8mp images you can always crop images if you need to get closer. Make sure you get a good sized SD card - images are around 3-4mb each and the videos can soon take up many mb's of space.
