4 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to.....   December 4, 2008
P. S. Bigio (kent, UK)
I've used one on my black Macbook for about 10 months and it does exactly what it is desgined to do - protect your Macbook! Easy to put on and remove, doesn't add much size & very little weight. The only reason that I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that, in hot climates, the glue holding the clear rubber pads on the bottom begins to weaken and smear along the bottom of the case, not a major nuisance but a nuisance none the less.

5 out of 5 stars better than slip case   December 2, 2008
David Long (Hampshire, England)
I bought this red case at the same time as my black macbook. (got that elsewhere - sorry Amazon!).

I didn't want another slip case because it's too much of a hassle constantly zipping and unzipping etc. This works just fine. The macbook just goes straight into my laptop bag. Unlike some others I haven't noticed any over-heating - and I do check my emails and surf the web in front of the tv in the evening so I think if it was a problem I would have noticed by now.

The only problem so far has been people asking me where I got it from.

2 out of 5 stars Be Careful   November 22, 2008
Lilly Jo (Leeds, UK)
A word of caution, I have had this case on my macbook for the last 4 months, and yes the shell is hard and protects but I recently noticed some scratch marks on my computer base. I took the casing off to find that indeed I have scratches all over the bottom, and up the sides of my computer base. I am very careful with my macbook and do not leave it dusty places or where it can attract bits. I tried to contact the seller with this issue and have not been able to get a resolve from them. For the price the case in not worth its while. You need to keep the macbook in the case, in another sleeve to protect it. Save yourself the money and just buy the sleeve.

5 out of 5 stars it's a nice cover   October 24, 2008

Spec cases are very good. I've bought two.
They look good; better than the anonymous white.
They protect the mac and are a good, easy fit. They come off easily if, for example, you need to remove the battery (rare).
Buy one, you won't regret.

3 out of 5 stars Nice, but a word of caution   September 29, 2008

I've had one of these on my macbook since I bought it back in Feb (just over 6 months now), and although it has kept the front of my mac nice and scratch free, I recently got a little crack along the face of the macbook on the palmrest right at the edge of the casing. As it was still in warranty I took it along to my nearest Apple store and got one of their lovely geniuses to look at it. As soon as I pulled it out with my red protector on the genius smiled and said knowingly 'I bet I know what's wrong with that'. It seems that the case I bought to protect my lovely new Macbook had actually been the cause of the problem. The plastic puts more pressure along the seam of the casing and can cause it to crack with successive opening/shutting. Although I have to wonder how strong this casing is to be cracked under the miniscule weight of this casing, I would caution all those buying one of these to make sure they close their books very carefully to avoid the stress fracture I experienced. I did love the protection it gave my machine, and the look of it too, but now I'm in two minds as to if I'll put it back on again...
