Although easy to set up, the channel search was slower than I expected, and the supplied mini aerial found nothing at all (yes, I do live in a poor reception area of Kent). The device appears work better when connected via XP Media Centre than with WinTV. Picture quality is reasonable with no breakup.
The instructions are a little vague, (you can probably download them direct from Hauppauge to check).
I only purchased this for use when on holiday, where there is no digital TV, so it will do the job if there is a reasonable areial available.
There is no remote control with this model.

The express card version of the Win TV HVR works perfectly. If you have a computer with an express card 54 slot this is the best card out there for freeview TV. It's more expensive than all the USB cards on the market but will last a million times longer and give a much better picture. The updated Win TV software that comes with it works well, or alternatively it works perfectly with Windows Media Centre, which I prefer.
