I now have two of these drives, connected to an iMac. They are excellent, I escpecially like the ability to "daisy chain" the drives together, so they only use up one of my firewire ports. (You can only do this with firewire).
I have used the drives to replace a server, as they are so much quieter, and they also turn themselves into sleep mode when not in use, which saves burning loads of electricity.
I have used them for over three months now, and have had no issues at all, the bundled backup software is fairly basic, but works on the iMac at least.
Excellent drive and value.

This is a great buy. It hasn't failed or had any glitches of any kind. I partitoned it to 250GB HFS and 500GB NTFS, and it has worked flawlessly. I have it running constantly and its performance has been great, and very comfortably quiet - but then my Mac is very quiet, so most noisy towers will drown out the sound of the hard drive. It suprised me to see it actually came with a USB2 cable and a 6pin firewire cable as well (premium edition). It feels solid and durable, and I have to say i'm very impressed and happy with it.
I seriously recommend it for all reasons, especially seeing a lot of portable HD's tend to fail or just tend to be rubbish in general..
