 ESATA doesn't work on 64-bit Vista October 28, 2008

I bought this item mainly because of it's E-SATA connection, but when connected via E-SATA it crashed my computer. The seller ended up saying it was due to me having Vista 64-bit, but neither amazon or their own website say that it doesn't work with Vista 64-bit.
Their own website says that this product is compatible with Vista, so how come the ESATA doesn't work with 64-bit Vista. Did they not test it out?
The drive works fine with USB, but I could have easily bought something else if I was just going to use the USB connection. Disappointed.

After having my hard drive fail on me and losing everything i've spent 7 years trying to get such as family photos and the like, I learnt from my mistake and decided to get a external hard drive as a back up solution. I saw this drive as one of the cheapest 500GB drives so decided to purchase it. I was a bit worried at first due to it being from a company i hadn't heard of but I realized it was a good choice. Although the drive came very poorly wrapped(loose in a box wrapped once in bubble wrap) the drive seems to work fine. The fact its both USB 2.0 and eSata is very good. The drive isn't exactly silent, the small fan gives out some noise but isn't too bad, i've tucked the drive into a cupboard and sometimes i forget its even there.
I would give this drive 5 stars except for the fan being a bit noisy and the bad packaging.
So far after a few months use the drives running fine, i wouldn't carry the drive around with me as in my opinion they're far too fragile for but i'm very happy with it. Simply had to plug it into the computer and it works straight away. Excellent

Silent even under load , after hours still only warm due 2 internal fan ,b ware of install paper-work asking u 2 open unit 2 connect sata cable,no need 2 ,cables all fine on my unit.
