This was just what I needed. I wanted to backup my pictures/video whilst on holiday. At this price, this was exactly what I needed. Delivery was as fast as ever from Amazon and i am very pleased with my drive.
A Tough Quality Drive August 17, 2008

I bought two of these when they were on offer around 30 from Amazon, to use with notebooks, they have been designed to survive if dropped which I saw as a major selling point. The box contains two USB cables a 30cm that stores around the drive and a longer 81cm cable. All in all an excellent product not to be confused with cheaper drives that will suffer damage if dropped. Personally I always have a USB extension cable on my desk for attaching such devices.

A great little back-up device for those of us who don't have a clue about these things. Just plug it in to your PC's USB port with the cable provided. No need to format the drive or anything in the slightest bit technical. Wait for the green light to glow and 'bingo' you're in business and ready to back up all those important files.
The Buffalo Mini Station comes with a CD which includes software to install the Turbo facility which apparently speeds up data transfer. I must confess I did not install this and found the normal transfer speeds totally acceptable.
There is also an automatic back-up facility on the disc along with some access security software. Once again I did not install any of these.
The reason I did not give this product five stars was the fact the USB cables (there are 2 supplied but I found my Buffalo worked with just 1)are ridiculously short. If your USB ports are set low down on your PC which mine are, they're barely long enough to reach the top of the desk!
If it's simplicity you want then I think this might be the product you've been looking for. I paid under 30 for mine direct from Amazon which I thought was a bargain. Other suppliers are around the 50 mark.
