Good at the price, but..... December 2, 2008 John T. (United Kingdom) Casio Collection AW-80-1AVEF Men's Watch This watch appears to keep good time and is quite robust. However, I found setting it up something of a miniature nightmare. For one thing, you will need to rent the Hubble telescope in order to read the user guide as the print is microscopically small, and the instructions aren't very easy to follow either. Fewer functions would have been welcome, unless you REALLY need to know what time it is in South Africa or Hong Kong. So, unless your eyesight is equal to that of a hawk with a telescope and your patience is limitless, prepare yourself for an ordeal. If you can get through the set-up procedure and retain your sanity, you will be pleased with this product.
Useless Buttons September 19, 2008 T. Webster (UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having had a reliable digital Casio watch some years ago, I was happy to order this model. But on receiving it I found the 4 buttons used for setting the time and functions, impossible to depress without a tool of some sort. I had a thin Allen Key screwdriver whose end fitted into the indentation on the buttons. I had to press with this so hard that the tool bent. Even then the watch failed to respond. I returned the watch and selected a replacement. That proved to be marginally better. At least there was some response. But still I was unable to set the time. Obviously the design is flawed.
Nice watch : July 8, 2008 G. Varghese (London) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Typical Casio: reliable and accurate time. The watch dial is pretty big and as people have mentioned, the glass is prone to scratches. Changing the analogue time can be time consuming as it cannot be changed manually. Backlit is an area of improvement. After trying Titan Indiglo, this is like going back to ice age. idea of world time and facility to keep digital time different from the analogue one is pretty cool. Could keep 2 timezones for easy reading Recommended: for the price a nice buy....
Good value watch March 25, 2008 Keith Barnes (Huddersfield, Yorkshire) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Wanted a useful, cheap watch to wear while gardening etc and chose this after a search through the Amazon selection, knowing that you can usually rely on Casio. Had it a few days now and it `does exactly what it says on the tin': keeps time accurately plus it has all the bells and whistles should you want them (world times, alarms, stopwatch, countdown etc). As for its looks, this is obviously a matter of taste, but I happen to think it's quite smart, even if it is unlikely to be mistaken for a Rolex! In fact, I like it so much, I've worn it continuously since I've had it. In my opinion, a great buy at the price.
This watch is tacky and ugly. November 27, 2007 C. Smith 6 out of 49 found this review helpful
Admittedly the time keeping is not too bad (although certainly not the best), but the piece is a pure abomination; an eyesore of magnificent proportions. Mr T would have put this on and said "I pity the fool who has to wear this cheap piece of ugly trash on their wrist, for they truly love inferior accessories. And I ain't getting on no plane". The upshot is that this is a very ugly watch. I would happily knock and scratch just for an excuse to throw it away.
