Considering i only paid 150 for mine i cannot complain, and why would i want to?
This thing is amazing! I have never been a fan of Apple stuff, still am not, but my opinion of the iPod has changed.
For such a small thing i can do so much: Games, Calendar, Mail, Internet, Music, Movies, Apps etc.
It truly is great - However, i wouldn't pay 270 for one... They aren't that good.
If you can get one cheaper it is a must, if not wait till they are < 200. You won't regret it!

One word describes this product - awesome!
I got mine back in December and it is just incredible. OK so 16GB is ridiculously small for most people's music appetites but I have learnt to cope with the capacity by unchecking a load of music in iTunes.
A couple of criticisms come to mind, sync times are very slow in comparison to HDD based iPods (I would say roughly 3/4 transfer speed) that can be annoying when you have to reload all your content again. In addition to this you cannot group compilation artists that result in lots of obscure names whilst scrolling through music (if your a dance music fan). These are quibbles however and don;t detract from how good this device is.
The advantages of this however make this device stand out and quash its peers. Wi-Fi and internet browsing are phenomenal. The multi-touch is a joy to use and are unlike anything I have ever seen on anything else - it baically makes the competition look like dinosaurs. Music browsing is really easy and beautiful in cover flow. I find that scrolling through artists is simplist for me but all my mates like CF. I tend to watch lots of videos on the iTouch too and clarity and sharpness are astonishing for such a slender device.
The price has fallen considerably since I bought this and now there is the 32GB version that is tempting. Apple really have produced a device that has it all!

Wife bought me this for my 40th birthday to replace my 30gb video ipod which has been played to death.
Have to say what a fantastic piece of kit, worked effortlessly first time synching all my itunes stuff and selected photos. Bought some music on itunes via my ipod without any fuss. Only thing is like any ipod make sure you get a protector for it as it is a fingerprint magnet. And yes I am a Apple fan, always have been, everything just works effortlessly and the ipod works perfectly with my new imac (5 month old). Recommended.

everything about the ipod touch rules. id explain all the features but i think the product description probably does it better than i ever could.
i bought this as a present for my girlfriend for christmas and she loves it.
the device is sleak and shiny, super thin and feels remarkably sturdy for its "8mm thin shell" or whatever gimmicky way apple have of saying how fat it is.
the 16gb flash drive in it doesnt seem to be a problem for her size wise. it still holds plenty of tunes and videos, just it probably wont hold your entire music collection, but itunes is great at organising all of it between your comp and touch. the on screen keyboard takes a bit of getting used to but once you have its very easy to use.
wireless connectivity is a brilliant addition to the web browsing capabilities but no bluetooth means you cant use your touch with your mobile phone for GPRS/3G/HSDPA internet access on the go.
there are only two problems that i have with this device:
1.) it does not support flash so a lot of modern sites wont work with it, especially a lot of you-tube type sites that use flash video, though youtube is supported through its own 'app' individually. apple dont seem to care about flash support either so i wouldnt expect it anywhere in the near future.
2.) the headphone jack and socket are different to normal 3.5mm jacks so a normal set of headphones wont work with this device which makes it a pain in the bum getting it to work with your home stereo without some DIY headphone modding.
Overall though, this device is superb. Beyond original and with the gadgetry and usability that make it a wonder of technology that for its size is ahead of everything else ive seen.
i would say this device could come close to replacing a home computer if you really wanted and could give on a few points.
