Great piece of kit October 14, 2008 Speedster (Edinburgh, Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My tiny round blue Sony Mp3 gave up the ghost after three years service so I thought I'd give the Shuffle a go as all I wanted was a small player to simply play music. Nothing else. So far, I'm very pleased with it. The sound quality is nice and clear, the Shuffle tiny and light and a lovely blue shade. Most of all, I love the clip, which makes it so convenient and portable. My only problem is converting Sony's ATRAC files to iTunes friendly mp.3 but I have ripped a CD straight to iTunes and that worked very well. iTunes is a lot easier to use than SonicStage and I know I am not alone in having this problem of being stuck with Sony's format for music files. Even so, I am glad I have bought an iPod.
Cute and Useful! September 17, 2008 Ms. Helen Mitchell (England!) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After months of using cheap crappy MP3 players I bought this and thought "sod it", i spent a little extra (it was 50 back when i bought it) and got me an Ipod shuffle. There is nothing to say other than it works, it's tough, it's pretty (mine is a beautiful blue) and it works beautifully. I find it very compact and sturdy and it charges well too - the battery also lasts me a long time. A star off however for Apples not so eco friendly manufacturing!!
Essential piece of kit for fitness fanatics August 21, 2008 Music/Book/Film Fan (Morden, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I go for a run I like to listen to music, and for this the iPod shuffle is absolutely perfect! Despite its small size it is solid and well built with no flimsy plasticy parts which look and feel like they're going to snap off. And the small, lightweight size means that it doesn't get in the way. The belt clip feels firm and solid - as you'd expect as it made of steel like the main unit - and grips well without marking your belt or clothes. The buttons are well placed and very easy to operate without looking, as is often necessary if using it while jogging or working out. If you were to use this as your main music player on the go then the fact that the Shuffle doesn't have a display would probably be a bit of a problem. But, if like me, you're only going to use it in the gym or when jogging this shouldn't be a problem ... after all who has time to read the display when running anyway. As with all iPods the ear phones included are adequate but not exactly brilliant. Half a star lost as a result. Ordinarily I would say that 1GB or 2GB is too small for a portable music player, but on this occasion I'm quite happy to sacrifice storage space for portability and ease of use as this more than makes up for the fact that it will "only" hold about 200 songs. Of course managing the songs stored on the iPod Shuffle is a breeze with iTunes. Equally important, the battery life is very good when you take into account the small size of the gadget.
Excelent little music player July 31, 2008 Dr. Paul A. C. Allain (Canterbury, Kent, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Fantastic and unbeatable value for money May 24, 2008 Me@VIP (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Why some people choose to dismiss this player or moan about it's lack of features is beyond me! It's simply brilliant! I use mine purely for the gym, so where else could you expect to get 250 tunes on an mp3 player which is lightweight can clip on your pocket and not even know it's there and not have to worry about breaking it? I used to take my 30gig ipod with me to the gym and after it falling off the equipment so many times and bearing in mind it usually fell onto something made of cast metal, not ideal really when you have a screen to break! So the fact that it doesn't have a screen is a bonus for me cos it's less to worry about and why are you ever likely to want more than 100 let alone 250 tunes on it when you can simply change them anytime you like on itunes. I just load them on press play finish my session at the gym turn it off and next time I turn it on it starts where I left off and you can choose the order you want them to play in itunes or press the shuffle feature if you fancy a random playlist for a change. As for those who question the sound quality, well I load less tunes on mine but at 320kbps which is cd quality and mine sounds superb, so if you are going to put tunes on it which are 128kbps or less you can only expect some deteriation in sound quality! Yes the headphones aren't exactly B&O but I don't really need to listen to 5.1 surround sound when i'm at the gym so for me they are more than adequate. I ask you where else can you get all those ingenious features for 32? Fantastic bit of kit for the right application!
