There are a few negative reviews here, whether or not they are by people who have used this new Ipod or not does not matter. Those of you who have used one in the past will know the pros and cons, and this is probably Apple's best yet. I'm not a huge fan of thin styled phones, ipod's etc, and this is easily one of the smallest, but it looks good, and as most people think 'smaller is better', then they should be very pleased. The price is also nice and competetive, especially considering the video playback, and memory capacity. It is also simple to use, and easy to set up.
The new video playback feature works well even with a small screen, as the pixel level is high. So, everything you see will be clear as you could want it to be. You may need to convert file types in order to play your videos, but this can be done easily enough online. The battery is strong- up to 5 hours of film or 24 hours of music. The new Cover Flow feature which lets you flick through your album covers so you can choose what you listen to is nice enough, though hardly essential or exciting. There are also other extras such as games, calendar, stop watch, world times, to distract you for a while, as well as a setting to check how much space is left.
There are a few games built in to the Ipod to pass the time if you're sick of staring out the bus window, Music Quiz being interesting enough, and solitaire the old favaourite. Obviously, the pink colour has been picked as a cynical ploy to get a lot of women and girls buying, and the shade of pink is gorgeous and stylish enough to show off. The most important thing is sound quality, and it is just as good as ever, improved if anything. You can easily tune out from the outside world of coughs and chat on the bus using this. The click wheel is slightly too sensitive, meaning you scroll past the song you want, and that is about the only fault I can find here. So for a simple, sleek, high quality iPod with plenty of space, this is the one you want. And it's hot pink.

Well mp3's are ok but this i-pod is amazing so many songs and colours yes i will admit it is a bit anoying at first but once you get into it its so cool.

I got this for my birthday last year, never having had an MP3 player before and I am hooked. I love the pink colour and I also got an Intempo docking station in pink to match. I have not (touch wood) had any problems with it freezing that other people have mentioned and the 1000 song capacity is perfectly adequate for my needs. I have since purchased a skin (in pink of course) to protect it and this looks good and fits perfectly. I would definitely recommend for an easy to use, attractive mp3 player for which there are lots of accessories available (via Amazon and others).

When I got my first iPod from my brother as a birthday present, I was very excited about the prospect of cariying all my music with me wherever I go. But as time went on I learnt that you really had to be a geek to be able to work the bloody thing. The earphones [which they claim are `THE ones to have`] were crackling and distorting after a while and even after I switched them for a new set they continued distorting like there was no tomorrow. I wanted to get some iTunes online, but when I found out about the price I wasn`t so keen and thought I`d better stick to CDs who`s songs are cheaper [most of the time]. Then I realised the way in which I could really use the iPod, and which saved it from a 2 star rating: you buy some rip-off cables, hook them up to your sterio, attach the iPod onto the other end and bob`s your unkle: you have nearly 1000 songs playing randomly out of loud speakers; so was it great? No. at first it was fun, but then once I got bored of the songs and tired of the annoying little buttons I started putting CDs on because I couldn`t face the strain of messing about with the iPod even , or paying for more iTunes. minute longer than I had to.Since then it has come to be a piece of modern history, waiting for when I will become a nerd. I will say however that the memory is pretty big, but to tell you the truth if I were you, I`d save up to buy some good CDs rather than this semi-waste of time.
