well, first of all look at the price - its pretty good for a 8gb touch screen mp3/mp4/picture player. it looks great, its easy to navigate, the software on the pc is easier to use than itunes and it has its own music store. it has bluetooth which means you can use wireless headphones and speakers etc and conncect to your mobile phone. however it does not have the equivilent of the app store and doesnt have games, but its an mp3 player not a phone.
overall i think its much better value for money than the ipod touch
and i forgot to add the display is amazing, easy to see even in broad daylight and pictures look stunning on it

This is a brilliant little device. Brillianbt sound, great screen, video is a joy, pictures look fantastic, bluetooth is fast and very useful, games are fun and addictive, if you have a phone with bluetooth, you can pair the two devices and make and recieve phone calls from your p2 without even touching your phone. Really cool UI (user interface), if you get emodio, you can make your own DNSe's (which is just a fancy name for an equalizer) much lighter than iPod touch / iPhone, nice to hold, no tacky chrome back like on the iPod.
A few things I feel I should clear up:-
1. Yes you can use it as a phone,
2. I got the 8GB model for just 90 at Comet in Macclesfield,
3. Games and loads of other cool stuff comes in a firmware update (takes a while to download but trust me it is so worth it)
4. The sound is amazing; clear crisp and joyful.
5. One recommendation I would have is to get it a leather case or something similar as I scratched mine quite badly.
6. Trying to find some speakers for it is proving quite hard.
!!!!!IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THIS AND AN IPOD TOUCH, THERE IS NO QUESTION ABOUT IT, GET THIS. FOR SUCH AN AMOUNT LESS YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED I PROMISE!!!!!

works with BBC iplayer November 30, 2008

Ive had this player for a week and im very happy with it.The screen is of a fabulous quality.Samsung build quality is good.
Some points which might help in your decision.
1.This works with the BBC ipayer-no complex instructions,just go to the iplayer site and download a program, clicking on the link for portable devices.Drag n`drop it into the video folder on the p2 and your done.(iplayer will only work for uk residents)
2.You may need to update the firmware for the iplayer to work.Samsungs own media player software, which comes on a supplied disc will do this for you automatically.If you dont want to install the software its possible to update manually (plenty of info on youtube about this).
3.Any other videos you have will have to be converted to the native resolution of the p2 and Sammsungs Emodio software will do it mostly ok (but checkout the forums at anythingbutipod for a taste of what can go wrong).
4.I found drag n`drop works fine with all the tag info intact for music and pictures.For video other than bbc, i have used a program called "Mediacoder pmp" which is free and open source.
5.Ive owned a Samsung S5 for a year now and have had no problems transferring video,podcasts,music or pictures to it.So far the p2 seems the same.

Ok guys... Where do I start??? Had the thing for a week and wow did I get the one that was put together by the apprentice on Bank Holiday 10 minutes before clocking off. .. If I had to buy another mp4 or 5 as this one calls itself it would not be this one. After charging it for over 3 days to get about 8 minutes power from it and now the buttons just do as they please, its going back and will never darken my door again. Would I recommend it NO. Not the one I got anyway.
