Sony Mp3. October 22, 2008 Mcfly_girlie 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Firstly my sister bought this in black, because her other sony mp3 was outdated and pratically broken. It was superb, the graphics on the video are excellent. The quality of the music was also superb, there are many settings you can change it to depending on the quality of the song (eg Studio, Live, Club, Arena, Matrix and Karaoke). Using this is also superb because if the song is really bad quality you can make it sharper. You can store pictures on this mp3 which is superb when i want to show my friends. There is a "hold" button, which prevents from using the battery and prevents from switching on and off from accidently pressing buttons. If the mp3 is on "pause" for rougly about a minute it automatically switches itself off - Which i think is brilliant! The mp3 itself is small and sleek, and so MUCH easier to use than a ipod.. they're only buttons on it. The signs on the mp3 are very clear and precise it's easy to follow and easy to put songs on.. Just plug it in, drag and drop. BUT if you want a playlist you would have to use a program, any program would do. I use windows media and it works fine. The screen is rather large, which is what i love about it. There are two tiny screws on the back which on my sisters one fell off instantly, yet no harm has happened to it. If you drop the mp3 nothing really happens it's quite a solid piece of metal. (considering i drop mine ALL the time). The only bad point i have with it.. Is the fact that every 2 weeks to 1 month i have to reset it. Probably from where ive dropped it. Ive only had it from April. But personally i dont see this as a major problem. Also the earplugs which came with it, aren't that good and dont fit in your ears very well. (It might just be me though!) Also previously to charge my mp3 i have had a charger which plugs into a plug. This time they only give you a USB. Which is rather annoying, but because i have a sony adaptor to a plug there is no problem. Overall i think this mp3 is amazing. Totally better than a i-pod and all other mp3s!
Cute and sounds great August 28, 2008 Elaine from West Mids 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great little MP3 player that not only looks great (cute and girlie) but is really easy to use. Have loaded on lots of tunes and really love it. Highly recommended.

PURCHASED NEW 8 MONTHS AGO, HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE FIRSTLY YOU WOULD BE LISTENING TO A TRACK WHEN FOR NO REASON, THE STUPID THING JUMPS TO THE NEXT OR EVEN 3RD DOWN THE LIST TRACK, TO MAKE MATTERS WORST, WHEN YOU TRY AND SKIP A TRACK AND MOVE ON, THE MACHINE SOMETIMES REFUSES TO DO SO. ADDED TO THE ABOVE, SONY ARE ASKING FOR 79 TO REPAIR THE MACHINE EVEN THOUGH ITS UNDER A 12 MONTH WARRANTY, IN FACT THIS IS THE 3RD SONY ITEM WHICH HAS BEEN RETURNED FOR REPAIR OR EXCHANGE BY MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY IN THE LAST FEW YEARS, THERE IS ALWAYS A FIGHT WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN WALES, BEST AVOID AND STICK TO I-RIVER OR IPOD.
Frustrated and annoyed March 22, 2008 J. Thompson 2 out of 22 found this review helpful
I was so looking forward to getting a new Sony Walkman, my old Connect player had served me well. I no problem with the older model loading, programming etc. I have tried for two days to get this one to work, I followed all the instructions to a letter, which is not easy as you have to remember to charge it fully first, which it doesn't actually tell you to do. It just tells you how to charge it. Eventually after naming my model "Maud" and managing to load a couple of albums onto it, I unplugged it from the computer and listened. Yes the sound quality is fantastic. Great I thought let's load some more stuff. Computer now does not recognise ''Maud''. So unless you want a lot of frustration from my point of view leave it well alone.
Superb sound quality, crystal clear display... so simple! December 20, 2007 SB (Warwickshire, UK) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
I've had my new toy just a couple of days and it's so brilliant I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for alternatives to the ipod nano. Sony have completely revitalised the Walkman brand and done themselves proud with this one. This A series is supremely easy to use when it comes to music & mp3 files. No special software required... it's plug & play. You just hook up your new player to your PC (no idea how easy this is to use with a mac) with the supplied USB cable and your player will start charging straight away. Once you're connected, you can either synchronise your music with files in your Windows Media Player if you use it (you'll need v.11 supplied with the player on CD or downloadable from the net) - just click a button and away you go - or you can drag and drop files from your C drive directly onto the player. Couldn't be easier!! So, when it comes to music it is fool proof. There is a BUT... I'm still trying to work out how to get DVD files onto the player. The player doesn't come with conversion software to convert your DVD files into MP4's compatible with the player so you'll need to find (and buy if you want something reliable) the software to do this. I have the software now and have converted some files into MP4's successfully, I've put them on my player but it's coming up with "file not recognised" messages. I'm clearly doing something wrong but I'm not a novice at this kind of stuff and it's not simple to work out. Sony really should have supplied some help here with the player - some software would have been nice, and some simple set up guidelines. After all, it is a "video" Walkman. That's my only grumble. I primarily bought my player for music (replacing my much out-dated iriver mp3 player). This is world's apart. It sounds fantastic. I'm not so keen on the earphones supplied as I don't find them that comfortable but have some other Sony in-the-ear earphones I bought just a short while ago. I've put 100 CDs on the player so far & still have 2.5GB of space left to play with. You can use it for storing photos too if you want. The Spiderman movie trailer that comes installed on the player is crystal clear. I'm sure I'll get my video files to work soon... As an mp3 player I can totally TOTALLY recommend it. So easy to use & such fantastic sound quality. What more can you want? Super sleek and slim and the battery seems to just keep on going at the moment - just a brief plug into the PC tops it up for hours. I went for a deal where I got my player with a free leather case and neck strap - I can recommend these. In fact, I don't see why they don't come with as standard, as they're kind of essential of you're using it on the move (and who isn't?!). Walkman have proven that they're "back" with this!
