Great little speakers, good sound, wouldn't have paid 70 for them but worth current price ( 25) agree case should be big enough to fit mains lead, can be squished in but not designed for it. Bought white then now seems to be a black option in photos , not there when I ordered, don't see an option to choose colour, would have preferred black but need them now so no time to attempt a change.
Biggest gripe, no dock adaptor for ipod nano 2nd gen though that is the ipod featured in the picture on the box (probably to make speakers look bigger?) ipod will stand on plug but should come with adapter as says works with all dockable ipods, grrrrrr.

I bought these thinking they must be ok if they were originally 70, and also Philips - a well known brand! However I am even more delighted since I set them up and started listening to my music! I've played Classical and Rock on them so far and I have to say the mid range is better than some dedicated radios/hi-fi systems i've heard - I am more than happy with this product and I've already recommended it to a number of my friends!
Great to look at too, charges my Ipod Nano 2nd Gen without any issues - just can't wait to use it when i'm on holiday now!

I think these speakers were excellent value for money ( 25), I don't think you will find better speakers than this unless you spend a lot more cash! They look really good and they are compact enough and they do not sound tinny at all.
Would recommend to purchase!!!

I've just bought these from Amazon for 25.
Bad Points:-
Case slightly too small to pack the charger in (able to at a squeeze).
It takes 6 AAA batteries.
Only fits ipod's (no speaker socket for things such as mobile phones/other MP3 devices).
Good Points
It charges your ipod.
It is quite compact, light, and if you use it with the batteries the case is great.
The sound is amazingly good for the size. It's a lot better quality than I expected and louder too.
I've given it 5 stars for the sound quality and also for the fact that if you need to buy a charger anyway (around a tenner) these speakers work out at around 15. I'd have been happy with the sound at the original 70 RRP.
I'm off outside now with my IPOD, speakers and a nice glass of white!

I am really pleased with this product. I am using it with my 3rd gen Nano, and the sound quality is excellent considering its size. It runs on batteries or mains and also charges the iPod. It all packs into a lovely little bag which makes it ideal for travel.
Don't hesitate, get one.
