One of the best 32" 1080p TV's on the market November 17, 2008 G. Wiscombe (London, UK) The LC-32X20E was really easy to set up with an excellent build quality. The menu system is great, featuring an auto tuner, nameable AV inputs and when you turn a device on (assuming all other devices are off) it will auto switch to that input. The TV itself has no ghosting/shadowing effects and can even handle fast pace game-play from Xbox 360, everything you would expect from a good 1080p television. One negative I would note, is that the sound quality is a bit trebley but if your going to be using a 5.1 or have an amp it's not what I would consider a problem.
Very good value, superb picture October 22, 2008 Matthew Webb (Chesterfield, UK) This television is excellent for the money. I have it linked to my DVD player, DVD recorder, X box and sky box and the picture quality is superb. Sound is a little tinny, but that is a very minor point. Excellent connectivity, with 3 x HDMI, 2 x Scart + various others. I can recommend this product to anyone who wants a high quality full HD image for a relatively low price.
Great set Great price September 9, 2008 wolrab88 (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
BARGAIN! I opted for this TV instead of the latest Samsung 32" due to previously having a Sharp and the value of it. Not disappointed at all! The specs were almost the same and the Sharp is over 100 cheaper. Well worth it, picture quality is fantastic and is very easy to set up. I have the PS3 running on it and Blu-Ray and DVD up scaling both look very impressive. The great thing about the set is the amount of inputs there are on the back of it. 3x HDMI, component, scart etc plenty of inputs for everything you will have. The only niggle i have with this as mentioned in a previous review is that the built in Freeview is quite slow to respond to commands and doesn't have a page up/down option on the EPG. Nor does it have a small preview screen. But to have it built in the TV is a bonus for me I didn't have before so small price to pay! Well worth the money. I would definitely recommend this set if your looking for a 32" Full 1080p HD.
Nice TV but not perfect September 2, 2008 D. Ferguson (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have the LC32B20E version of this television i.e. same model but all black and purchased after recommendation from a local TV and Hi-Fi shop after they spoke very highly of the Aquos range and convinced me that it was worth spending a little bit extra to achieve the excellent picture and sound quality that this TV undoubtedly has. I was not disappointed. The picture is excellent and a good test is to watch a game of football and notice if there is any 'trailing' of the image e.g. when the ball is kicked or when there is any other fast movement across the screen. I saw none of this with the LC32B20E. Further, the sound is excellent for a television output although I have to confess that I have used the digital audio optical out to link to an external amplifier and speakers. Set up was relatively easy and I was up and running within minutes of taking it out of the box. I have a upscaling DVD/HD recorder which works excellently with this product. The only problem was that the Sharp did not like the digital 'bitstream' audio output from the DVD player and I had to use 'PCM'. This is probably the fault of the rather poor Samsung player rather than the TV itself but it would be worth noting that not all digital audio outputs conform to a single standard it would seem. It is not a big deal but I would recommend ensuring compatibility if you have a pre-existing, high cost player or blu-ray. There are two very notable down-sides to the LC32B20E: The Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is poor. It is difficult to read in all three display modes that it has and moving between channel information is slow. Further, you lose all TV display and sound when going on to the EPG i.e. no small preview screen to see what the channel is currently showing as you would find with most other LCD TVs. The whole EPG is very poor. Second, channel-hopping is usually a bit slower when dealing with freeview but on the LC32B20E it is painfully slow for a TV of this spec. Combine this with the slow EPG and any idea of skimming through channels to see what takes your fancy is a real chore! I am giving 4* because it does what a TV is supposed to do very well - excellent picture and sound quality. I am being generous by only taking 1* away for the poor EPG and channel-changing time which lets this Aquos down in a big way. My only hope is that future firmware which controls the box (and which can be downloaded automatically when the TV is in stand-by mode for a period of time) offers a fix for this problem.
Excellent product May 28, 2008 C. Le Beuvant 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I currently have this TV connected via HDMI to my Playstation3 which I use for gaming as well as watching Bluray films. There are 3 HDMI ports and usual SCART and SVideo connecters. I was unsure if the 8ms response time would be quick enough but I have no motion blur whatsoever. I have a friend which has the 46" which I believe has 4ms response time, though I could only see a difference when the 46" was running in 100Hz mode which is only really good for non HD sports programmes. The TV has options to skip any inputs/freeview/analog which is not being used. I cannot comment on freeview as I have no reception for that. The surround bezel of the TV is very thin and overall looks excellent in black with silver speakers bar at the bottom. The standard definition TV picture is very good also. The sound probably would not fill a larger room, but as I have an external Dolby Digital amplifier I am not bothered. The price has dropped quite considerably since I bought my set and the larger screen models are now probably much better value for money, but I am extremely happy with my purchase.
