I have lived with the LC-37X20E for the last 11 months, and feel it's about time I posted a review. From an aesthetics point of view it is supremely elegant for a flat screen, slimmer than most LCD screens with an unobtrusive narrow bezel and subtle speaker set up. Connection options are many and varied, with 3 HDMI inputs and pretty much every other option out there. A side access panel to some connections is very useful once you have bolted it to the wall. The remote response is slow when changing input source, but it is only a minor niggle.
Connected to sky+ SD box the performance is better than most other makes I've seen, coping gracefully with even fast moving sports and not a judder in sight. Comparable quality of picture to my Sony CRT this replaced at 2m away, which came as a surprise. This does vary dependant on the channel you're watching, as I understand they broadcast at different quality. Watching a BBC broadcast of an Anglo Welsh RFU match recently was an obvious improvement to a sky sports broadcast of a footie game on earlier the same day. I can't speak for the built in digital tuner as we can't receive digital broadcasts (not even DAB)- hence the vastly overpriced sky service I have to endure. Would like to compare sky HD, but just can't justify giving them even more cash every month. I will vent my spleen elsewhere on this toxic subject.
Upscaled DVD is glorious, skin textures and tones have an almost tangible realism, and you can see every blood spattered blemish on Russell Crowes face in Gladiator. But this machine really shines with a Blu Ray source. at 1080p Blade Runner - Final Cut was mesmerising to watch. If you need to look at how the contrast ratios stand up I can think of no better film to put this TV though its paces.
PS3 gaming is flawless, and COD4 looks stunning even at 720p. Response time is top notch, and I've yet to notice any jaggies or lag.
Sound quality is very acceptable, with a fair bass response from such well concealed speakers.
Overall 10/10. Being a fussy old git I am delighted I took the plunge into LCD after a long wait, knowing it would be hard to beat CRT without selling organs for a B&O or similar. Top Job, Sharp, and jolly well done.

Before I purchased this TV for my new home I did a fair bit of research. Unfortunately I couldnt find any reviews on this TV from people who bought it.
I can now safely say its a gamble that paid off. The screen quality is perfect and everything is crystal clear. You do pay a bit more than than the other makes on the market but if you want to stand out then this is the TV for you.
Its not that thin as I hoped for but its thinner than the other TVs also the remote is slow to reponse which I some people has mentioned before.
But apart from that it is a high quality TV which i would recommend anyone to buy
