The Best 37" LCD TV available March 4, 2008 Mr. Daniel Owen (Birmingham England) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
I spent far too long researching which LCD TV to buy, basically the last 3 months have been wasted reading magazines, internet reviews and talking to sales assistants. They all pointed me in the direction of this TV but I just kept on looking for that one bad review to put me off. There is nothing bad about this TV - it's awesome. After 5 minutes of setting my visual and sound preferences I was staring at easily the best SD picture I have ever seen, then after hooking up my 360 I couldn't believe the difference. Save your selves a load of time - by this TV - there is no way you can be disappointed! Oh and it's Panasonic so quality is guaranteed! My gadget-phobia wife even loves it!
Excellent bit of kit March 2, 2008 Robert Delamare (Cranleigh, Surrey) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I spent a great deal of time researching a replacement for our 10 year old Sony CRT set. "Which" magazine recommends Panasonic and we have had problems with Sony kit lately. 37 inch is a suitable size in our room and this has a native resolution of 1080, most don't. Set up was a doddle though I did install a new hi-gain aerial a couple of months back, which helped. Just plugged in the VCR and DVD with a couple of scarts, connected aerial lead as per diagrams in the comprehensive manual and away it went! I was watching Freeview within 15 minutes of unpacking the box. Tweaking the picture settings is equally simple, with the remote and on-screen menus. You almost don't need to read the manual.
good buy with some compromise February 9, 2008 bala (UK) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
This is a very good TV and there is no doubt about it. In the standard definition broadcast, both Sky and DAB, (which most people have at present) the images are a bit wishy-washy (compared to my previous 28" Panasonic CRT TV)around the edges but if you are not too critical this is fully acceptable andbeliev me is not noticeable after the first 2-3 days The standard DVD images are super and I have not tried HD yet. The looks are brilliant and spekaers on sides make it feel bigger than most 37" TVs. I would recommned this to anyone planning to buy LCD TV
Delighted,but.......................................... January 19, 2008 Sam Tyler (Glasgow) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
After many months buying the mags, checking the various stores, I decided on a Panasonic. I set my sights on the 32" XLD700 which is everybodys top lcd. Then I foolishly decided I wanted something bigger( kids !!)Slightly spur of the moment decision, it was available locally with 3 year warranty, only 40 more expensive than here and I could it get into my car right there and then. Dead easy to set up, basically switch on ,a few on screen instructions that didnt require rocket science. Standard Digital tv pic is great, would give just short of 5 stars,as long as you sit the 2 - 3 metres from the set. I am very disappointed in standard DVD pic, can get a bit hazy round margins,I noticed this in the shop and the cheaper Toshiba beside it was better, I spoke to them and they showed me the multisocket scart that was supplying the same pic to about 8 sets and they blamed that - they did say I could return the set (try doing that !!) My DVD player is an early JVC , so possibly that is the problem. Its too early to decide on HDDVD/BlueRay. Ironically I was in a Comet a few days ago and they had set up side by side the Panasonic 32" XLD700, This 37" and the 37" plasma all playing the same Hi Def picture. There was not a lot in it , but this set came out bottom. The 32" was impressively sharper - they must have known I was coming !!!!! I like to watch films when the kids are in bed,so perhaps a new DVD player will soothe my hyper critical eyes. The kids of course love it.
Panasonic TX37LZD70 January 8, 2008 Iain F. Martin (Edinburgh, Scotland) 42 out of 42 found this review helpful
Like the other two reviewers we spent an age researching which LCD TV to buy and finally settled on this model - we are not disappointed in any way. It looks great, pictures are way better then anything else I tested before buying - SD broadcasts are amazing and gaming via an Xbox 360 looks fantastic. Standard DVD viewing is also excellent - have'nt tried full HD yet. It is easy to get bogged down with all the technical jargon on the internet and even specialist magazines, so felt the need yo write a few words on this TV for anyone else looking for the bottom line - BUY ONE NOW, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
