i bought this tv to upgrade from my samsung 32",it cost me close to a 1000 when the tv was first launched. you can actually buy a 40" tv now for cheaper than the price this is today, but what you have to remeber is with lcd tv's price is everything,since laucnh in january this tv has lost only 300 in value so that shows that this is right up there with the models today.I have hooked up my samsung 5.1 home cinema kit and its flawless,my xbox360 looks stunning in game mode function that the tv has,and for using my pc its great im 8ft away from the screen with a keyboard on my knee and mouse at the side of me.
My adviceto anyone thinking of tv this size would be to buy this one,the picture is awesome and the tv itself looks stunning with its glossy black finish and the frame is slim.
i have left a link to a very good homecinema kit the onei have its now 80 when i bough it,it was 250, its 800w 5.1,has hdmi,opitcal out aswell evrything you need for superb surround sound.

This is my first LCD TV, and I'm well happy with it! I've upgraded from a 28" flat-screen monstrosity and I'm loving it!
The picture is incredible, and it was so easy to set up and connect to my PC, V+ cable box and Xbox.
I do have one or two gripes though - the remote isn't very responsive - you have to press the buttons really quite hard which means that you can't quickly scroll through the menus or anything. I also would have liked an easier to use quick menu to select the input. If I want to go from watching cable to watching a DVD on the Xbox it takes 5 or 6 seconds to flick through the input sources to get there.
Don't let that put you off though, it's a wonderful piece of kit, and pretty simple to use - I'm just quite impatient! ;)

I bought this TV specifically for watching television, including dvd movies.
It works!
It is easy to set up. Digital channels are displayed very well to the extent you can clearly see the programmes that have been recorded on higher definition cameras. DVDs are excellent, even on a 4 year old hard drive including DVD player.
Looks like I am now going to upgrade the DVD hard drive as I can see the difference in quality now that I couldn't see before.
Excellent prices around now for this very good quality. Some people complain about the sound but I have experienced no problems with sound quality.

This television offers outstanding picture quality and unbeatable value for money.
If you are looking to purchase a 40" lcd television, I cant imagine a better option. With 1080p & 15000 x 1 contrast ratio it easily competes with lcd tv's in far higher price brackets of around 1500!!
I am extremely fussy when purchasing electronics and would never compromise on performance or quality, but I seriously cannot find fault with this product.
It is a stunning looking tv, with the simple hi gloss, curved design, only an LG comes close for styling.
The electronic programme guide is better than many.
My tv is badly angled towards floor to ceiling, south facing picture windows and I suffer from hardly any glare, even on the sunniest of days I dont need to pull the curtains!
I have not upgraded to a hi definition dvd recorder yet but you would never know it, my current dvd recorder is 1080i with no hdmi output and I have owned it for a while, but upgrading to this tv has made it feel like I am using a blu ray player. Even friends with Hi Def or Blu Ray have commented on the similarity of quality.
I did some serious research before my puchase and I would not consider any other tv after owning this. Look no further.
