What a brilliant TV !!! August 28, 2008 Mr. D. J. Forrest Basically, apart from the odd movement blur due to the 8ms refresh rate, this TV is awesome. I got mine from Currys (might be a slightly different model number but basically exactly the same) for a pound under 700 and I can safely say that when I watched Sky HD on it and a Blueray film, I was extremely impressed with it. I also changed the picture to the movie setup and it was amazing. Playing a PS3 on it is fantastic. The colours are brilliant and when it is set to gaming mode, driving games etc. are really playable and the screen refreshes excellently. All in all a highly recommended TV and I am so glad I waited for this superb Samsung TV.
I haven't been 'wowed' by it..... any suggestions? June 2, 2008 Paul Clark (Scotland, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this 2 weeks ago and am unsure about it. I thought this model offered the best attributes for the best price and hoped to be 'wowed' by intense HD when i set it up. Unfortunately, TV from my standard Sky box is actually worse than it was on my old CRT TV! Can anyone advise why this is? Had mixed responsed from colleagues - some said it's because my TV is too high grade (1080P) for the lower-res Sky signal and it's showing the cracks more clearly. (Apparently a Sky HD box will solve this). This would make sense if it weren't for the fact that other colleagues say that 'normal' Sky works fine on their giant TV!! Just bought a PS3 and an HDMI cable to see if that made stuff look great - games and blu-rays look good, but not sure they're visibly better than normal DVD quality on my old CRT. Can anyone solve this dilemma?

Gorgeous! April 23, 2008 Mr. S. N. Oldershaw (Leeds) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love my Samsung TV :) I recently upgraded from a 32" 720p/1080i to this 40" Samsung 1080p TV and the difference is truly amazing. I wasn't expecting a massive difference but there was. It is shocking how quickly technology moves on. I bought my previous TV about 2/3 years ago, but compared to my Samsung it may as well have been a 20" CRT. This TV really is that good! The picture quality is flawless, and a comprehensive menu of features ensures that you can tune it to your personal taste. The sound, even with the inbuilt speakers is excellent - I don't even bother with a dedicated amp any more. I have connected my PS3 and have played several games and Blu-Ray movies on the TV and they look perfect, absolutely PERFECT. The only downside (and this is true for all large screen HD TV's) is that standard definition TV broadcasts look a little choppy by comparison, but TV broadcasts are heading down the HD route anyway so it's only a temporary issue. Also, with most of the front of the TV being the screen (no awkward looking speakers on the side) the profile is relatively small (compared to other 40" TV's I have seen) and as such it won't look out of place or "vulgar" in a standard living room. I highly recommend this TV.
Great value March 31, 2008 Mr. Phillip Robinson I am very pleased with this purchase. This TV looks great both physically and on screen. Most of what I am viewing is standard definition but look much better than my previous telly. XBox 360 games, which I view via a VGA cable on the "PC" input, look fab. Highly recommended.
