I had the misfortune to buy one of these TV's some time ago. The picture quality was not very good and had some ghosting when films were shown. I can't say I was very impressed with it but you become used to it over time. The 1 year guarantee period ended and I was invited to re-insure it for some exhorbitant sum of money, but I declined as these TV's go on forever without anything going wrong don't they? Well imagine my surprise when it suddenly went off. I tried to start it with the remote but it kept switching itself off after about 3 seconds. Same thing happened with the on/off button on the TV itself. Off to the local repair man with it, much head scratching but he soon found the problem, that will be 186.00 please, plus vat of course. Your 'avin a larf I said. No it's 140 for the part, plus labour he says. Well, you could have knocked me down with a cheque book, thats the last time I buy anything from Sharp, bleeding sharp practice more like. I havent had the blasted thing more that 18 months, they must be making a packet on replacement parts. So a word of caution if you are considering this model; a. Don't bother. b.If you ignore a. make sure you get breakdown cover for it.
My last TV, a Matsui lasted for 10 years without any problems. Get a Sony Bravia.
