Sound just not good enough November 24, 2008 Al (Farnborough, UK) This TV is good in many respects, but the sound is absolutely dreadful. It's not just because I'm expecting big-TV surround-sound, the sound really is woeful by any standards - very tinny and the balance is completely wrong; e.g. when watching a football match the crowd noise seems really loud but you can barely hear the commentators. Adjusting the balance via the menus doesn't seem to make much difference. Similarly, when watching a movie some sounds are really loud and clear while others are barely audible. Also, the TV won't recognise that the signal from my Sky box or VCR via scart leads include stereo sound and won't let me switch the TV sound from mono.
Happy with this TV February 19, 2008 L. Chant (IOW, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It took a little while to set up the Freeview. You have to go into a separate menu to setup freeview from the main TV channel setup it mentions in the manual. Once that was done it worked a treat. It has a programme guide/schedule list and you can set reminders on programmes that are on later in the evening. It will then display a pop-up when the programme is starting asking you if you wish to change to that programmes channel. I have no issues with the resolution or the sound and find the picture to be quite clear and you can easily change the aspect with the remote. But if you want something to watch cinema-style thumping action movies then best avoid this one as it is not particularly bassy (or consider linking it to a stereo system for better bass). But it is perfect for the bedroom location that I have this in. Great for the price.
Decent TV for the price January 17, 2008 Fast Reactor (Scotland) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this TV because it is HD Ready, has a HDMI interface and built-in Freeview. It was a telly downsize from a big TV that was dominating the whole lounge. The only drawback I found with this TV is that the sound isn't great, but that was only noticeable because my previous TV had Dolby surround sound. You get what you pay for here and if you want a huge TV with thumping sound this is not it. It is a modest TV that does what it is supposed to. Ideal for people who don't want a massive TV but still want modern technology like built-in Freeview.
just avoid it November 13, 2007 Nick Meers (UK) 9 out of 13 found this review helpful
After doing loads of research, it seemend that this might be the super-slim, low profile telly of choice for our not-very-interested-in-telly household, so that at least we had something to watch the news and occasional movie on.... But alas this is the worst flatscreen I've ever seen (and I work all day on large flatscreen PC monitors professionally) - this thing has terrible visual horizontal banding, and the colour controls appear to make no difference, rendering everything very B R I G H T indeed. The sound is nondescript too, and for the money I was absolutely outraged that the so-called new technology is so completely lacklustre. Fair play to dear old Amazon, though, who took it back with no hassle whatsoever, a completely prompt and efficient exchange service, they even paid the postage and made it easy for us: We've ended up with a 90 old-technology CRT telly with built-in DVD player that looks 100 times better! AVOID
Incorrect information on the page June 1, 2007 Mr. Aaron Varshney 45 out of 45 found this review helpful
There is incorrect information on this page to do with the Daewoo DLT20W2, I went to Comet to see what the TV was like, and the TV has Component, HDMI (with HDCP), VGA input for PC Monitors, Freeview, Composite, S-Video, and 2 Scarts. The picture quality was also very nice indeed and I'll be buying one of these from here. The false information on here almost got me looking away, but the TV is a steal at this price.
