Well, we finally took the plunge and after looking at the Sony W series and the Panasonic LZD85 and this one, we finally took the plunge and went for the TX37LXD85.
The main reason we chose this one was the styling, it fitted well with the stand we had in mind, that and the fact that the TV makes a VERY good job of standard definition TV, no problems on this set at that I have found in the week we have been using it.
We also went and brought a blu ray player, and if you input this into the TV WOW, it will knock your socks off!
Another reason we chose this set, is whist it cannot produce 1080P, only blu ray supports it, most of our viewing will come from SKY HD, and it appears to be a little known fact that they only broadcast in 720P so we will be more than happy (well if sky ever ring back to install that is!).
In summary, this is a cracking set and for the money we could not find anything to beat it.

Bought this tv for my mum who is 77 , You put batteries in the remote and plug tv in and off you go. No down side at all dont get to involved with the instruction manual as it is a bit long winded . Use it as you go along and the bonus is the sd slot my mum now has a 32 inch photo frame as a bonus. Good delivery as well , came 2 days before the earliest date given 10/10
