i got this 704 for christmas ,it says just turn on and go if only when i got it ,it took two days to read between the lines of the manule .they mised so many things that should have been printed in paper form so you know how to use .deleting old programes aint working by the book recording of tv programer ? wifi? ...now ive had time to play with it im now getting the best out of it wifi is free?unlike ver gen5?{405-605 etc picture quality is good grainy but this is a small portable unit when playing back to full size tv its noticeable but not so on such small screen recoding quality? wifi works out of the box on this modle but find it a bit slow and has a tendacy to crash .took a bit to work out how to get on the internet as i was only able to get archos home page ?ive recorded lots of things stright of tv camcorder and camera use as a hard drive for photos ,, it needs a lot of playing with to get the best but im sure over time this is achiveable read {archos forham} for more info how to.. the quality is sterdy metal removerble battery two types of usb ports all touch screen comand except two buttons on the side on?off and tv button ,,,it has a metal built in stand and case to protect comes with some cables ,,,very smart and fells very good quality twin speakers stereo i would sugest never to remove the protective plastic cover untill its necercery but replace asap prelong your screen life ,,touch the screen with care not prod as only requires very light touch? .this unit only comes to its full using a dvr station so id advise to buget for one ive gone for the gen 5 becouse it offers more for the money but the remote will not function .use the one that comes with the 704 unit its the best way to store and charge and tv programer .im sure after several week this unit will be second nature to use but why why why did archos not print a instruction booklet that shows how to use its function ..if you want something portable big enough to read pages of the net watch video tv programes and photo libary and music player consider this ,the only thing i would say is to try one b4 you purchurse but im sure you will love this unit or its equiverlant
