The Mpack P800 promised loads.
It works for what I primarily bought it for as a large storage and viewer for my Nikon Raw photos - but I'd have been better off with the Epson. It displays only the thumbnails from raw photos and most Compact flash cards can't be read on it. It did read my IBM microdrives and then one day it destroyed both of them - corrupt and unformatable.
I bought it in preference to the Epson as it also had a high spec'd music player and video but it won't remember where it is in an MP3 file - so no listening to recorded books for example which I often do with a better MP3 player on the train. With Video it will only remember where it is in DIVX movies. So watch 30 mins of a film on it and next time you turn it on you'r back at the beginning again. Oh and fast forward only works on DIVX as well
PQI promised support and created user forums - but the last software update was Aug 2005 and added very little. When users started complaining that it was being sold as having functionality it didn't have PQI said it was on its way. Eventually when too many people asked where the promised software was they just closed down the forums altogether - still selling the product though!
