I do not understand why other people find a problem with this MP3. I am highly satisfied with the unit from the ease of using the software to the operation of the player itself. I have shown it to friends who have simlilar popular makes and they are all impressed by the sound, the look and the operation. One said that he thought the sound was better than his unit.
In fact I had such a bad experience with a major suppplier (on behalf of my nephew) in replacing a malfunctioning unit that I vowed never to buy one again. Their after sales service was unbelievably poor.
The set up of the music is great and unlike other reviewees, I have not had a problem with "Various" artists and how they are stored. Maybe it is all in the storage on the PC in the first instance. I used Windows media player to organise my record collection and it has copied across effortlessly and exactly how i wanted it to appear.
i have one very small gripe. The Battery does not last the advertised 9 hours and i think this is due partly to the great viewing window. When booting up I get the impression that it takes a lot of battery power. Maybe if it is used non-stop you can get close to the 9 hours, but otherwise, the best I have had is 6 hours. however, as it is easy to charge up, and as you can use the radio when power is low (which preserves the battery), i haven't found it to be too much of a problem.
Don't dismiss this unit, it is a class act, and would get 5 stars but for the battery.

This player is awful. Having had my poor little i-pod stolen I decided to venture away from Apple and buy a hard drive MP3 player. I might have made a mistake. The software on the Samsung is really poorly designed (especially when compared with i-tunes) and uploading my music was a real pain. To make matters worse, after having used the thing about 3 times it decided to pack up completely so i can't even switch it on. It is going straight back to where it came from and i'll be reinvesting my cash in a different brand as i don't think i can endure the trauma of uploading everything again.

This mp3 player has a few downsides. First of all when deciding on playing a song when scrolling you have to scroll through all the song titles individually until you get the one you want. Quite tedious. Another thing similar happens with the photos, you can't store the photos in separate albums, you keep thm all together in the one folder and once again have to scroll through them all. The last fault i found with this is that if you happen to say store a compilation album onto it. It does the unthinkably annoying little thing. It stores each single artist thats on the albums separately. I put on the 'Pulp Fiction' soundtrack and it ain't good. The artist could have been just stored as 'Various' or 'Compilation'. This would have been alot easier plus less artists to scroll through when play some tunes.
Besides all this, the player is pretty good with its massive capacity and clear sound. The aspect of having photos too, does add an edge over those fashion accessories 'I-Pod's', lame. I chose this mp3 player because i listen to music and not listen to everyone at the office.
