Do not buy this TV. As other reviewers have mentioned, the DVD player is a complete joke, mine stopped working after a few months. Also, the picture and sound quality is rubbish too. At this price you would expect a high quality television, not one that does not work. Stay well clear of this model.

I bought this model in May 2005. I ignored the bad reviews and initially was very pleased with my purchase. However, just outside the guarantee period the DVD player packed up. Philips just don't want to know and stick to the story that there is no common fault with this model. So I paid 150 for an item that in little over a year was no longer fit for purpose. I've now had to fork out more money for a separate DVD player.
On the up side, the TV is great, but it's certainly the most expensive portable I've ever bought!

TV is great but DVD stopped working after 3 or 4 times of use But, good old Amazon allowed me to return it for credit.It is a pity the DVD failed because the TV is excellant.

I bought one of these in November 2004 and have found it to be an excellent product. It has been well used and never refused to play a dvd.The picture quality and sound is excellent, much better than the Bush TV which it replaced. I think that the number of negative comments in these reviews is more a reflection of the fact that Philips have probably sold thousands of these machines and satisfied customers rarely bother to write a review. At this price, I would highly recommend you buy one.

I bought one of these in November 2004, it has been very well used and completely reliable. What you have to remember when you read these reviews is that Philips probably sell hundreds of thousands of these combis and the only people that normally leave feedback are those that are angry because they've had a problem.(that's less than 20 people out of all those thousands of customers) I would recommend this item and it is now selling for a bargain price.
