Daewoo DSL22V1WCD September 25, 2008 Dr. Y. G. Hau (London, United Kingdom) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Good multifunctional TV. Quality of sound and picture is average. Remote control is poorly designed. Digital tuning of channels is suboptimal compared to other TVs. Power cord comes in two parts (lead + adaptor) so difficult to conceal if you are considering mounting this TV on a wall.
Great Product July 21, 2008 A. Phillips (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this in March for the bedroom and it really has not disappointed at all. Not the best picture in the world, but still very good, and you do have to scroll through a menu to change input DVD to DTV etc, but for the money it really does do everything it says on the tin and I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Shame about the controller June 10, 2008 Mr. Allan J. Westbury 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have been using this TV for about a month & am overall very happy with the overall quality & picture although I thought the sound lacked any presence & it was difficult to tell it was in stereo. The first set delivered failed within 2 days but a quick phone call to the Daewoo help desk number ( clearly shown on the instructions) resulted in an immediate offer for a full refund or a new set. I opted for the new set which amazon delivered within 48 hours. No complaints there. My complaint is all to do with ease of use & the fiddly nature of the handset/controller. Most of the digital TV & DVD controls are right on the bottom of the handset making it difficult to hold & operate. It is almost as if Daewoo had a terrestial Handset free & added the digital stuff as an afterthought. It is also a bit of a pain having to use a menu to change function ( ie DVD to digital TV) but I guess the wide range of inputs available makes that almost inevitable. Overall I think it is a great little set & I love the built in freeview tuner & DVD player. The set is really stylish & an excellent price. It is just not that user friendly.
Daewoo 22" LCD Review April 5, 2008 B. King (United Kingdom) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've now had my Daewoo 22" LCD television for just over a month and I wanted to wait a while before reviewing it so I could review it fairly in it's entirely. First all of let start by saying this is a very good 22" LCD television perfect for small bedrooms and rooms alike with the added bonus of a built DVD player and freeview + a USB/card reader, easily wall-mountable it really is excellent value for money. The LCD Panel is made by LG it seems to handle the freeview picture and HD-Gaming very well I've tried & tested a PS3 and the HD-gaming was very good and it handled it nicely. There are couple of draw-backs to this unit generally just some niggles that can be annoying from time to time but for the price you can't really complain the build quality is much better than you'll find in high-street stores selling lesser brand units. Right explaining the niggling problems well firstly if you use TV mode (although it'll most likely be set to DTV = Freeview most of the time) TV mode does seem to have a distinct colour problem with the pre-set picture modes. Secondly the HDMi socket on the rear of the unit is unfortunately placed to tightly against the back of the unit so it can be quite a struggle to plug in an HDMi device. Thirdly when I received my unit the remote control had a fault on it which was replaced by Daewoo swiftly for free but just to warn you the remote can be expensive to replace as it is an all-in-one handset it can cost upwards of 50 from Daewoo spares direct! Lastly a couple of minor of problems the sound can be issue as even set on the lowest setting it is still quite loud (if using at night/ late evening) and also the lack of multi-region support and format/s support for the DVD player is bit annoying. :-( Other than these few niggling problems this unit is really good which is why I rate it 5/5 stars because as like most things it does have a few issues but nothing that can't be over-come and generally for the price if it holds or drops in the near future it is a very good bargain.
Not bad purchase, controls a bit confusing though March 2, 2008 Mr. P. Kenyon (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
Bought this television to replace an aging CRT we had in our bedroom and rid us of all the clutter of separate Freeview box and DVD player. Overall, very impressed with the overall package: 22" lcd tv, dvd player and freeview in one box, with the additional bonus of USB and SD inputs so we can view our digital camera pictures and listen to our mp3 albums. My only critism would be the not so easy to use remote control to change from 1 source to another, why couldn't they have just have included buttons on the remote/tv to quickly change from 1 source to another without haveing the hassle of scrolling through a menu and selecting the different options? This may only be a minor fly in the ointment of an otherwise superb package at an excellent price, so if this doesn't bother you, and to be honest it is a rather minor issue, then I would recommend this tv to anyone. Not a bad product, but always room for improvement!
