FEATRONICS Portable DVD Video 7 in 1 December 17, 2008 Mr. John R. Reeves (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Delivery time was unexpectedly quick, that's not to say that I wasn't expecting a good service, but it was rather speedy. The title is a bit brief even with the 7 in 1 bit, so here goes with the full whack. Portable DVD Video 7 in 1 with Matrix TFT LCD - DVD / MPEG 4 / SD Card Reader / Analogue TV Tuner / DVB-T. Comes with a remote control and all the necessary leads, and external battery unit, earphones and a very handy black zippy case for the unit to fit into. The unit seems a bit uninspiring at first look, in the obligatory silver plastic case. It is reasonably slim with a small footprint, that's its size and not carbon. On the left hand edge are to be found the power input and USB game socket, with a whole host of sockets on the right-hand edge, including SD card reader, USB input, headphone socket, AV in/out and antenna. On the top of the base are buttons for controlling the device, volume, channel selection and all that you would expect. The easies thing to do was plug in the power, shove a DVD in to see if it worked. Who needs the instruction book and who reads them anyway? Picture quality was very good and sharp for a small screen, just what I needed. Sound was reasonably good, again for a small unit, if a little limited, but with the option of extending the sound earphones or to speakers via the earphone socket. Controlling the player from the unit itself or the remote control with a thousand buttons on it was a breeze. Moving on to the TV facility. No real point in spending to much time with the terrestrial side of it save to say it worked when tuned in. Now to the Digital Video Broadcast Tuner (DVB-T) which is what I was after anyway, living in an area of the country going digital sooner rather than later. Hope you all know about the changeover and make sure you get only digital equipment. Anyway, fiddle with a few buttons on the base unit and tune in the DVB which set up some 50 odd channels, lost count after this. It set the channels up automatically anyway with an option to fine tune them, with the ability to adjust colour, brightness, screen size (16:9 and 4:3) and so on. Came with a load of leads to help to connect to other devices, like a big screen TV, and a host of games on CD. This player is what I wanted it to be, small and portable with a host of features and I recommend it accordingly, especially for the price paid, bearing in mind that others are much more costly. 4/5.
excellent entertaiment system October 18, 2008 Chumley (uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We searched for a prtable dvd player o take on holiday or our son to keep him entertained during the journey. We ordered this product based on its reported features and the associated reviews. At he point of orderig I was advised it would be delivered within 1 - 2 weeks. It arrived in 2 days It is simple to use the feaures are 100% accurate. Our son loves it but primarily uses if for watching dvds. The entire package is excellent but if I had anything to criticise it would be the battery pack that you cn not charge while being used. This is a minor problem the quality of the sound and pictures are great.
fantastic piece if kit August 10, 2008 M. Y. Chainani (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Only got this last week after reading good feedback on Amazon. We took it on holiday for the kids and were not disappointed. Very easy to use, didn't even need to use instruction manual. Great rubber covering making it feel, and hopefully be, more robust. Good picture and good sound. Distributors gave great service and quick delivery.
A great product! July 2, 2008 C. schofield (uk) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this! I bought it for my daughter and she loves all the games. The picture on the DVD player is great. The ariel for freeview is not very good. However, I plugged an old ariel of mine in and with a bit of maneuvering I managed to pick up most channels. When you plug it into your main outside ariel you can pick up all channels easily.
Feastronics Portable DVD Player July 2, 2008 Mr. R. K. Slater (Mansfield, UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
DVD playback is good, smooth and quiet. The analogue TV receiver is basic but picks up channels OK. The digital part is quite good, picks up the channels you would expect. The games are fine. We bought this device for an 8 year old and the games are more than adequate. The screen is as it looks and gives a good picture from most angles. The speakers are fine and produce a loud enough output. The card/usb readers work very well. We have inserted our card from a camera, and the pictures came straight onto the screen with no problems, and they were then very easy to flick through. The remote is also ok and the battery is externally mounted and as yet havent used it so cant comment on its life.
