Apply liberally to the top of your processor. you do NOT need to spread this around with your finger, just make sure there is enough that when you push the fan down it will completely cover the top of the processor. This compound is 99% micronised silver and forms an airtight layer between your processor and heat sink/fan, this means the heat is dissipated much faster leading to a cooler, more efficient and longer lasting processor life.
Over time this will solidify, but that is absolutely fine and causes no problems. At 99% silver, this is about as good as you are likely to get at this price level, I always use it.

I bought a few packs of these at PC world for a HUGE 16.99!!! But only to realize amazon.co.uk sell for 7.49.
I slaped half a tube of my Pentium 4 with the origonal fan and heatsink... Its seriusly messy and my fingers all coverd in grey... The compund is a cement like liquid. Its soft if you squeeze it, and its easily spreadable buy use ONE finger as it will take a while to wash off. One tube is enough for about 3 pentium 4 treatments and about 6 AMD treatments. The compound is in my guess conducts electricity so its a bad idea to go crazy with it. The effects of this thermal compund ar tremendous. It had K.Oed 20C right off my CPU. I have noticed a slight differecnce in heavy gaming. 1) The game doesnt slow down when played for 2hours. 2) The feeling that your CPU is going to melt is gone. 3) The computer noe rarely freezes momentaraly when the game ends.
I have also upgraded mt CPU about 3 weeks from writing this. The compound was still there but its not greyish silver. Its black. I scraped it off the heat sink and put the rest of the tube of compund in.
CONCLUSION:
-The equvelent of a boxer in terms of CPU heat
-Easy to use and lasts quite long
-Kinda messy to start with
-Brilliant if not great product!
