I wanted a simple/reliable 6-way surge protector and this is exactly what I got. I haven't had a problem yet and am comforted by the thought that if my home does suffer a power surge then my expensive TV/stereo equipment won't be damaged.

These make so much sense for your expensive electronic equipment. Most of us have at least 3 electrical items around our televisions which require power but not always enough sockets. An exension lead is therefore a must. This one though has a built in surge protector for up to 6 plugs as well as your telephone/internet cable. In the event of an electrical spike, lighting strike or power surge, this will prevent any connected items from having their electrics fried. Anyone who this has happened to will know your equipment is pretty much useless.
There is only one downside to this product and that is the power switch it has on the unit itself. It is so easy to knock it from on to off. Not a problem if it is behind your television out of the way but if it's under a computer desk it can easily be knocked to the off position. A quick workaround I find is to cellotape the button down to the on position. This is a very minor negative so is still worthy of 5 stars.

ok now to fully test this i guess you need to be struck by lightning. but to be fair my computer psu did blow out before i had this and it was down to a "surge" apparently, so since ive had this no problems.if you use your p.c. a lot buy one, sometimes its hard to tell what caused your p.c. to go down, so this will cross off one cause. plus theres like 6 plugs so its handy for your computer.

It works brilliantly i never realised the need for rotating sockets untill i bought this, now i realise just how useful that they are. It works brilliantly cut out the power to my pc during the last storm we had! a great product i will definatly buy another for my hi-fi and TV.

Having recently purchased a new computer with a Broadband connection, I wanted to ensure my equipment was protected and decided to purchase the 6 Socket SurgeMaster from Belkin. The unit itself is very well designed with colour coded LED's and two of the six sockets with a swivel function. This is extremely useful when plugging in bulky modem power supplies. The unit has sockets for your modem connection and therefore provides even more security from spikes or power surges. With an automatic 100,000 equipment protection warranty, you can be safe in the knowledge that your equipment is safe. Belkin is the market leader for these products and Amazon had one of the lowest prices all round. Highly recommended product.
