5 out of 5 stars Great Quality item, don't be put off by the price!   December 15, 2008

I bought this as cheaper alternative to the branded cards by D-link etc. I was expecting a cheap product. What I got was an inexpensive product, but definitely not cheap.
On first impressions the unit comes packaged in a nice glossy box, with lots of pictures and info - full retail packaging. Inside I was then struck by the card itself; The back plate is almost bullet proof and is firmly screwed to the board. All contacts and circuitry appear to be gold plated, right down to the aerial connectors. Even the thick metal heat sink is gold plated, so no cheap compromises - this is top quality kit. Inside the box is also a CD and manual. The manual is again colour and glossy with lots of screen shots. For once it is written in "real" English not a roughly translated copy. To be honest you don't need it; -. Just plug it in, and stick in the CD. The software and drivers load and everything is set up. All I had to do was enter my wireless key code (from the back of my Bt home hub). The network was detected and connected in seconds with full signal strength. So all in all a great quality product well packaged, easy to install, and works a treat. So why pay double for a brand name (which probably comes out of the same factory anyway).
p.s. phone up BT and ask them nicely for a new black home hub (free - I got mine today). In theory this card should give me 300mbits and increased range when used in 802.11n mode. Dave.

Worked first time, 100% connection/signal

Been struggling with a rubbish netgear on vista 64 , changed to this and so far i'm happy. Good speeds and no skipping when updated drivers were installed.

2 out of 5 stars Not very promising   August 11, 2008

With three antennas on the card (and a 1000W power supply on my desktop) I expected it to have excellent signal. Instead, it catches a weak signal. The Edimax Wireless utility is not the most intuitive one and I am not sure about its quality. I have a MIMO router and a laptop with an internal mini-PCI card reports an excellent signal in the same spot.

5 out of 5 stars Great Wireless Reception!!   July 31, 2008

this wireless card is great, really easy to install just pop it in your computer and install the cd that comes with it! the card works with both xp and vista as i bought 2 an installed one with xp and one with vista

the wireless card connected no problem to my new bt home hub 2.0, the computer discovered the hub, i entered my network key an was up and running within a few mins.

This card supports the new wireless n technology meaning you get greater coverage and increased speed i get full signal strength and 130mbps speed with my new home hub

overall a great product at a reasonable price!
