Netgear WG511 Wireless PC Card 54 Mbps. December 18, 2006 B. Charlwood (Bristol England.) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I found the Netgear WG511 so simple t0 install on my Evesham Notepad, I just followed the instructions to the letter and it worked first time! So far it has given first class service, I evan tried my Notepad Pc in my Shed and that's some 150 feet away from my house! I cant fault Netgear thus given them 10 out of 10 for how simple it is to use!
Easy to use, effective, recommended April 26, 2006 D. Taylor (England, UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This card came well packaged and with very clear instructions on use. It was very easy to set up, and I had absolutely no problems at all. The signal picked up was slightly weaker than that received when I used an integrated card in a loan laptop; however this may well simply have been caused by varying service within my college. The card sticks out a fair way, around 1-1.5 inches, but the original sleeve it came in is made of strong plastic, perfectly suitable for carrying the card around in a laptop bag. Overall a very effective piece of equipment for the price, and highly recommended. Delivery was also far quicker than expected.
Excellent Product November 26, 2005 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
This network card is a must have for anyone wishing to upgrade their Laptop for use with a wireless LAN.The installation is extermely basic a child could do it! Just follow the on screen prompts and your away. Once Installed all you need to do is fill in the correct information in the relevant boxes in the card's Network Wizard and your up an running, it takes less than half an hour start to finish. Absolute child's play! Don't bother shopping around buy this card now!
Very good card, good software October 27, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This card is a good card with good software downloadable from the Netgear web site. The Netgear software is better than the Windows XP wireless tools, and the latest version supports WPA-SK encryption, which is pretty secure for home users. The card performs well and holds its connection reliably, also finds all local networks pretty easily. LED lights tell you if the card is connected, transmitting etc. As an added bonus this card will also work with Mandrake Linux, but a fair amount of config work is required!
amazing April 29, 2005 Mark (Derbyshire) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Previously used a D-link USB dongle for wireless connection with a wirelessD-Link router but the former died a death. Was a bit worried using another company's product with the router but setup took less than 5 mins and it all works perfectly (so far) even through 4-5 thick brick walls and to end of a 1/4 acre garden....I also have a TV digi-sender and 2.4GHz phone and no problems with these. Windows XP with SP2 caused no probs.
