I bought one of these (not from this vendor) to replace a Lacie Ethernet Big Disk which did not perform. This product has very quick transfer rates for it's class.
These model has 256MB memory and a quick CPU. It offers lots of features including
- Twonky Media for streaming Movies,Music,Photos
- iTunes server
- SlimServer for logitech slim devices (you can't run this & townky at
same time)
- built in bit torrent client
- MySQL server
- Web server
- And more.
It is fanless which reduces power consumption and makes it virtually silent.
I use mine to stream movies, music, photos to PS3's. And music to a Roku Soundbridge. Works flawlessly
NOTE: BE CAREFUL to get one with a hard drive - they sell with and without if you want to add your own - default is no hard drive so it's a bit of DIY to add your own.
