I bought this for 349 which was excellent value anyway - so you can really grab a bargain now with the low price Pixmania are offering.
The monitor is glossy piano black and looks superb in your house. Very modern and stylish and goes perfectly with other items like my Playstation 3.
As for specs it has a very good 5ms response time, its a big 24" screen which really changes how you view things - especially your computer, has a HDMI port, and 10000:1 contrast ratio which is better than some HD-TVs on offer right now. So spec-wise its very strong and amazing deal for the price.
It has a height adjustable stand, and can be titled left or right - overall its very flexible. The controls on the front are touchscreen. Well they are flat, and you just touch them to start the monitor, or adjust the volume or enter the menu.
Speakers are built in so you see nothing, sound quality is decent for these hidden ones and is fine for everyday use.
Overall its a brilliant monitor, well worth it and really changes how you view things.

I bought this Monitor from pixmania through amazon.
It was supplied with analogue and dvi cables, an audio
cable and a power cable with an adapter as pixmania
are french.
(the one i received had no optional USB2 connectors though)
Delivery was quick, 3 days i think, and it was well packaged.
I had done a lot of research before choosing this monitor,
Its excellent. No dead pixels, crisp whites, deep blacks,
good viewing angles and no blurring that i can see in games
or movies. The build quality is excellent.
The Stand is very sturdy, very adjustable, it tilts pivots
and rotates. The screen can also be rotated to portrait mode.
the OSD is ok, lots of menues though, and the touch sensetive
controls take some getting used to, but they do look very cool.
The default colour and brightness settings are fine, and there
are several preset variations for different lighting environments.

Make no mistake, this is a quality product. The image quality is superb and you feel like you want to use this product. Except, the first monitor that arrived seemed to have a fault with irritating humming due to the brightness. No problem, I'll contact Pixmania Customer Services and receive a replacement. Except, there is no Customer Services Telephone number. Their telephone number on the Amazon web site is diverted to Comet automated technical support which then puts you straight through to the supplier - Samsung in this case, who then state you should contact Pixmania. Pixmania then asked me to log into my Pixmania account and submit a support request? This is impossible as the item was purchased through Amazon. Returned emails to the Pixmania Customer Services team bounce - they can't even be bothered to set up their email system properly.
Eventually, one email address I tried did get through and I was able to order a replacement. It then took 1 month for me to receive a replacement as they were incapable of delivering one within a reasonable timescale. Pixmania finally sent me a replacement (albeit a monitor designed for the French market with a UK converter). I never received a full apology, no courtesy telephone call updating me on progress (this monitor is worth nearly 300), no complimentary items as compensation - nothing. I state unreservedly, this is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I will never purchase from them again. Great monitor - useless supplier. Avoid.

I ordered the Samsung Syncmaster 24"Widescreen monitor from Pixmania on 24th September expecting, from previous orders, delivery within their 4 working days estimate. It arrived on 26th, actually just 30 hours after ordering. Brilliant service as usual from Pixmania. Ok, onto the product review. I'd done a fair amount of research into this size of monitor and time and time again the Syncmaster came out with largely very complimentary comments.
I had it set up and plugged into my new Mac Pro within about 20 minutes and, as you may have guessed, the Mac recognised it with no need for driver installation with no fiddling whatever. The quality of the image is little short of brilliant and of course I intend to calibrate it soon. The controls are very intuitive and the sound quality is pretty good too.
I also attached my current PC to the VGA input and surprise, surprise, I had about 35 minutes fiddling before getting the drivers installed/recognised and various settings tweaked to give an excellent image once again. One really nice facility is the excellent stand which has a very smooth rise and fall in addition to almost 320 rotation in the horizontal plane. In addition, the monitor also swivels very smoothly through 90 degrees to give a huge useable area for portrait DTP and word processing. I have seen the Mac alternative [23"] at close range and I believe the Syncmaster is a better image although the surface is a matt finish [which I prefer due to less glare] where the Mac is high gloss. Can't praise the product and service enough.

Arrived, from France, three days after placing the order. This was before the best estimate, so very happy with that.
This version of the product is less expensive than any other current offering on the Internet, possibly due to the absence of a USB hub on the base. For me, not a problem.
Screen quality is first rate - you could spend hours adjusting various parameters, but it didn't take me long to get the balance right.
No dead pixels and the build quality is excellent - superb adjustable stand and a solid base.
Works perfectly - without drivers - with my macbook pro. Also coupled up to an older XP box - through VGA - and the picture quality is also excellent through this link.
I had done plenty of research before purchasing this monitor and, thankfully, the positive reviews were truthful! Am pleased that I went with the higher resolution - although your initial reaction might be "Why on Earth have I got a TV on my desktop!", this quickly vanishes - and it probably is a false economy to go for 20 to 22 inch monitors.
Anyway, beats the hell out of the 23 inch Apple Cinema display - saved at least 300 and got 2 years more warranty!
