after researching for hours, trawling the internet for reviews of monitors i decided on this. despite the good reviews, i found three main reasons why this monitor is not all its cracked up to be
Colour: the monitor comes with pre-configured options for use with games, photos etc... but all options make their target look either way too contrasted or way to dull. although there is a manual config it still does not display the colours to the best they could be.
Screen: although i knew what i was buying when i bought a glossy monitor, this screen goes way past anything ive seen before and almost blinds you.
& finally...and most annoyingly of all
Ghosting: when plugged into my laptop, there was a constant ghosting on everything, that would not go away no matter what i updated be it the cable, the monitors setting or my graphics card.
i would not recommend this monitor, as my mother still tells me "you only get what you pay for" save up and buy something better

If you have already decided that you want a glossy screened monitor then this is great value. It worked straight out of the box and produces bright crisp images that look gorgeous. However, even with the venetian blinds closed in my office the reflections on the screen and on the black glossy frame surrounding the screen are dreadful. In general I get a headache after only 30 to 60 minutes of use and I'm probably going to be sending it back (at my expense) to get a replacement matte screen. If you haven't used a glossy screen before think carefully before you buy one, and consider whether the environment you intend to use it in is dark/dull enough.

Can't actually comment on this actual monitor as I bought the HP1907 from Amazon a few months ago when it was only 132.00. Now judging by the excellent quality and performance of this 19" version, I wish I had bought this 20" version instead. See my treview on the 19" version.

This is an excellent monitor for the money you pay, it cost 10 less than my 2 1/2 year old 17" monitor!
Straigh out of the box this monitor impresses you. There is a "quick-start" guide taped to the screen under the protective packaging. Plug into your mains, plug into your graphics card or VGA slot and you are away! switch on and install the drivers and user guide on the CD- EASY! you can even update the drivers via the internet straight away.
As soon as you switch on the monito it will adjust itself to the optimum visual settings for your computer and graphics card. brilliant!
I decided after much reviewing, not to spend 70 extra on the 20.1" model with rotating screen (to portrait) and height adjust. The resolution and response time is the same, so why spend the extra unless you really need to? i didnt require that much adjustment.
The stand simply slotted into the monitor portion then bent round to stand upright (to a little pressure to overcome the torque on the monitor)
All in all a great product for a fantastic price and it was dispached and delivered in less than 2 working days.
I'd say buy it!

The HP w2007V is a fantastic flat screen monitor. I had it out of the box, assembled and working inside 10 minutes. The monitor was plug and play with my PC and the HP display setting software is very helpful indeed, ensuring that you get the contrast, brightness etc just right.
The 2Watt speakers are simply not powerful enough in my opinion, however these were not why I bought the display.
As others have commented, the colours are truly vibrant - be under no illusion, this is a first class product.
